When you need a medical HVAC specialist

  1. 1

    Hospital or clinic under construction

The right design starts before any duct is installed, because ventilation and filtration needs differ from the surgical suite to the waiting area. An early survey saves costly alterations after the building is finished.

  2. 2

Departments reporting warm air or odours

In an existing medical building, weak cooling in one department or odours crossing into an adjacent area signals an imbalance in the air distribution or extraction system. Finding the cause needs measurement, not guesswork.

  3. 3

Maintenance contract for a running facility

A hospital does not close for equipment servicing. We schedule preventive maintenance visits department by department, coordinated with facility management, and carry out repairs with the smallest possible effect on daily operations.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Survey and requirements

We visit the facility, map the heat loads and air requirements for each department, and agree the duct routes before any design work begins.

  2. 2

    Design and supply

We design the duct network and fabricate it in our own workshop to SMACNA specifications, and supply units from our authorised brands: Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold.

  3. 3

    Phased coordinated installation

In operating buildings we work with management to phase the installation so adjacent departments stay open, and control dust and noise away from patient areas.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and follow-up

We commission the systems, measure airflow in each department, and adjust the dampers until the design requirements are met, then hand over the facility with a maintenance plan.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Kandarah is a relatively modern district with up-to-date hospitals and clinics alongside diverse residential and commercial buildings, well positioned near the city centre. Medical facilities here are typically newer with contemporary cooling systems that need regular preventive maintenance to avoid failure. Coordination between us, hospital management and the clinical department is straightforward because buildings are better planned.

Al Kandarah is in central Jeddah, a relatively modern district with contemporary clinics and hospitals within a developed neighbourhood.

Most modern Al Kandarah hospitals use a central chilled-water system with smart automated control that manages temperatures on demand.

Smart central chilled-water system with automated control

Modern Al Kandarah hospitals use a central chiller with a smart control panel that manages temperature and humidity with high precision.

  2. 2

Insulated ductwork with precise balanced distribution

Modern engineering uses highly insulated ducts and balance dampers to ensure equal distribution across all departments.

  3. 3

Integrated plant room with remote monitoring

The plant room is equipped with advanced sensors and electronic connectivity allowing remote system monitoring and instant alerts if problems occur.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Kandarah

  1. 1

Provide login credentials and access permissions for smart systems

We need secure access to the control app and smart panels to monitor and log temperatures during maintenance.

  2. 2

Coordinate with the clinical lead and biomedical engineer

Agree with them on the visit time and which departments will be serviced, and confirm they or a trusted deputy will be available during our work.

  3. 3

Prepare reports of previous faults and alerts

Send us any reports of temperature deviations or previous faults so we can focus on areas that need most attention.

FAQ

Questions about Hospital HVAC

How do ventilation needs differ across hospital departments?

Ventilation needs vary from one department to the next based on the activity in each area and the requirements set by the facility's designer and the site survey. Operating theatres need highly filtered, directionally controlled air, while patient rooms, corridors and administrative areas each carry different requirements. We build the duct network and select units from the facility's drawings and its specific requirements, not from general assumptions.

Can systems be maintained without stopping sensitive departments?

Yes, but it requires careful planning before the maintenance date. We agree with facility management on a schedule that names the section and the right time window, then isolate the target section using dampers and blanking plates without affecting adjacent departments. Corrective tasks such as replacing a capacitor or repairing a flare joint are carried out within the agreed time window.

What governs duct network design in a medical building?

Design is governed by the approved facility drawings and each department's requirements as defined by the site survey and the specialist designer. We fabricate ducts in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to project dimensions, and use Kimmco and Armaflex insulation with Foster sealants to control leakage. Distribution and pressure in each section follow the specifications drawn for that department individually.

Do you work with small clinics or only hospitals?

We work with medical facilities of all sizes, from a clinic in a residential district to a multi-storey medical complex. The size of the facility does not change the principle: the site survey is the starting point, and from it we determine unit types, duct dimensions and fresh-air requirements for each zone. Preventive and corrective maintenance contracts are available for clinics and hospitals alike.

Our new hospital uses a smart temperature control system, do you have experience with those?

Yes, we work with modern automated control systems and smart applications. We maintain both software and hardware, and set up remote monitoring for instant alerts if temperatures drift.

Emergency and operating departments are very sensitive, how do you verify temperatures?

We measure temperature and humidity with precision instruments before and after service in each department, record the results and give you a detailed documented report.

Modern buildings here are very sealed, does that affect indoor air quality?

Yes, well-sealed buildings can trap moisture and odours. We recommend regular filter and coil cleaning and checking outdoor ventilation to ensure adequate air exchange.

What additional services do you offer for modern cooling systems?

We offer scheduled inspections under comprehensive maintenance contracts, particle cleaning from coils, compressor pressure and oil analysis testing, and detailed monthly reports.
