When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.
Ask on WhatsAppManaging an existing commercial complex
We review the existing system and set a preventive and corrective maintenance contract scheduled outside trading hours so tenants are not affected.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.
Designed for the space or just fitted?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Air distribution | Load study per zone | One unit for the whole space |
| Ductwork | G90 sheet, sized for the job | Off-the-shelf wrong size |
| Condensate | Dedicated line away from stock | Risk of drips on shelves |
| Maintenance | Scheduled outside shop hours | Surprise outage during trade |
| Copper purity | Mueller copper, 99% pure, no welds | Unspecified pipe source |

What sets this district apart
Al Kandarah has individual shops, small-to-medium restaurants and clinics, buildings mixing old and new with wider gaps between them than in other market zones. Shops and restaurants need potent AC tuned to heavy use during all operating hours, especially restaurants where kitchen heat and busy seatings increase the load. Maintenance and cleaning are best scheduled during closed hours or between service times.
Al Kandarah is in central Jeddah's core, a mixed zone of individual shops, restaurants, clinics and nearby residential blocks.
Most shops and restaurants here run single split units or small central systems with outdoor units on roofs or side walls.
The AC setup in Al Kandarah
- 1
One or two powerful split units
Al Kandarah shops and restaurants need high-capacity split units rated for heavy use and constant customer traffic.
- 2
Central units with separate temperature zones
Larger restaurants sometimes use central systems allowing separate temperature control between dining and kitchen areas.
- 3
Enhanced drainage for food premises
Restaurants need robust drainage rated for the extra moisture from cooking steam and food preparation.

- 2
Confirm team access to roof and kitchen
If the outdoor unit is on the roof or cleaning needs kitchen access, make sure safe passage is possible beforehand.
- 3
Tell us about your kitchen size and equipment
Knowing kitchen size, ovens and other equipment helps us estimate heat load and the cleaning level needed.

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
My restaurant runs 12 hours a day and the AC runs hard, how often does it need cleaning?
Restaurants need closer cleaning than shops because kitchen steam clings to filters and coils, we recommend monthly or bi-monthly cleaning depending on kitchen size.
The restaurant is tight and there is no space for an outdoor unit, where do we put it?
We usually mount it on a side wall or raised roof, and sometimes use a metal stand outside the shop if the surrounding space allows.
Does kitchen steam damage the AC system?
Yes, steam raises humidity around the system, so we install strong drainage, clean filters regularly and ensure good ventilation around the outdoor unit.
The power supply in this area is weak, does it affect a strong AC unit?
It may, and we recommend checking the electrical panel and may suggest a voltage regulator or separate breaker for the AC to prevent faults and guard against fluctuations.
