When you need a medical HVAC specialist

  1. 1

    Hospital or clinic under construction

The right design starts before any duct is installed, because ventilation and filtration needs differ from the surgical suite to the waiting area. An early survey saves costly alterations after the building is finished.

  2. 2

Departments reporting warm air or odours

In an existing medical building, weak cooling in one department or odours crossing into an adjacent area signals an imbalance in the air distribution or extraction system. Finding the cause needs measurement, not guesswork.

  3. 3

Maintenance contract for a running facility

A hospital does not close for equipment servicing. We schedule preventive maintenance visits department by department, coordinated with facility management, and carry out repairs with the smallest possible effect on daily operations.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Survey and requirements

We visit the facility, map the heat loads and air requirements for each department, and agree the duct routes before any design work begins.

  2. 2

    Design and supply

We design the duct network and fabricate it in our own workshop to SMACNA specifications, and supply units from our authorised brands: Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold.

  3. 3

    Phased coordinated installation

In operating buildings we work with management to phase the installation so adjacent departments stay open, and control dust and noise away from patient areas.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and follow-up

We commission the systems, measure airflow in each department, and adjust the dampers until the design requirements are met, then hand over the facility with a maintenance plan.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Muntazahat is a relatively new development with modern hospitals and clinics on open layouts, but infrastructure is still completing in some areas. This allows modern AC design but may require coordination with ongoing construction, and smart routing of ducts and outdoor units to avoid dust and building work.

Al Muntazahat is in east Jeddah, a new development zone with modern hospitals and clinics and growing infrastructure.

Modern hospitals in Al Muntazahat are designed to contemporary standards and rely on smart central cooling with separate control for each department.

The AC setup in Al Muntazahat

  1. 1

    Modern smart central system

New hospitals in Al Muntazahat feature modern central cooling with smart controls separating departments and enabling full monitoring.

  2. 2

High-efficiency filters to handle construction and area dust

Construction and ambient dust in the area is heavy, so we fit MERV-13 or higher filters and clean them more frequently than standard.

  3. 3

Heat recovery system for energy efficiency

Modern hospitals use heat recovery from exhaust air to reduce unit load and save energy.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Muntazahat

  1. 1

Agree with the contractor on installation phases and coordination

If construction is ongoing, confirm when ducts and units can be installed without clashing with other work and cleaning protocols.

  2. 2

    Confirm electrical capacity is available

The new hospital may not have completed its main electrical panels, so confirm with the contractor and utilities that the power needed for cooling is reserved and available.

  3. 3

Obtain final drawings and department requirements list

The hospital design may shift during construction, so get the latest architectural drawings and a list of cooling, humidity and ventilation needs for each department.

FAQ

Questions about Hospital HVAC

How do ventilation needs differ across hospital departments?

Ventilation needs vary from one department to the next based on the activity in each area and the requirements set by the facility's designer and the site survey. Operating theatres need highly filtered, directionally controlled air, while patient rooms, corridors and administrative areas each carry different requirements. We build the duct network and select units from the facility's drawings and its specific requirements, not from general assumptions.

Can systems be maintained without stopping sensitive departments?

Yes, but it requires careful planning before the maintenance date. We agree with facility management on a schedule that names the section and the right time window, then isolate the target section using dampers and blanking plates without affecting adjacent departments. Corrective tasks such as replacing a capacitor or repairing a flare joint are carried out within the agreed time window.

What governs duct network design in a medical building?

Design is governed by the approved facility drawings and each department's requirements as defined by the site survey and the specialist designer. We fabricate ducts in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to project dimensions, and use Kimmco and Armaflex insulation with Foster sealants to control leakage. Distribution and pressure in each section follow the specifications drawn for that department individually.

Do you work with small clinics or only hospitals?

We work with medical facilities of all sizes, from a clinic in a residential district to a multi-storey medical complex. The size of the facility does not change the principle: the site survey is the starting point, and from it we determine unit types, duct dimensions and fresh-air requirements for each zone. Preventive and corrective maintenance contracts are available for clinics and hospitals alike.

The hospital is still under construction, how do you install AC while building work is ongoing?

We coordinate with the main contractor to phase AC installation without clashing with other work, and schedule final cleaning of ducts and filters after construction ends to remove building dust.

Construction dust in the area is heavy, how do you protect outdoor units?

We install protective barriers round outdoor units during construction and remove them after work ends, and schedule extra maintenance during building months to clean coils and filters.

Heat and humidity in Al Muntazahat in summer are extreme, can modern systems handle it?

Modern systems are designed for Jeddah's climate, and we select high-capacity units and filters rated for heavy dust, plus regular summer maintenance to maintain peak efficiency.

Available electrical power to the new hospital may be limited, how do you manage that?

We coordinate with the contractor and electrical authorities before design to confirm available load and capacity, and secure adequate power supply before installing outdoor units.
