When you need a medical HVAC specialist

  1. 1

    Hospital or clinic under construction

The right design starts before any duct is installed, because ventilation and filtration needs differ from the surgical suite to the waiting area. An early survey saves costly alterations after the building is finished.

  2. 2

Departments reporting warm air or odours

In an existing medical building, weak cooling in one department or odours crossing into an adjacent area signals an imbalance in the air distribution or extraction system. Finding the cause needs measurement, not guesswork.

  3. 3

Maintenance contract for a running facility

A hospital does not close for equipment servicing. We schedule preventive maintenance visits department by department, coordinated with facility management, and carry out repairs with the smallest possible effect on daily operations.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Survey and requirements

We visit the facility, map the heat loads and air requirements for each department, and agree the duct routes before any design work begins.

  2. 2

    Design and supply

We design the duct network and fabricate it in our own workshop to SMACNA specifications, and supply units from our authorised brands: Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold.

  3. 3

    Phased coordinated installation

In operating buildings we work with management to phase the installation so adjacent departments stay open, and control dust and noise away from patient areas.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and follow-up

We commission the systems, measure airflow in each department, and adjust the dampers until the design requirements are met, then hand over the facility with a maintenance plan.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Wahah is a growing residential and medical neighbourhood in east Jeddah with gradually expanding spaces and increasing medium-sized medical facilities. Most hospitals and clinics here are smaller than their counterparts in central areas, and need flexible, scalable AC systems. High summer heat and relative humidity impose precise performance demands, especially in surgical clinics and diagnostic areas. Coordination with small medical facility management is typically easier than with large hospitals, but demands high professionalism in execution.

Al Wahah lies in east Jeddah, a growing neighbourhood with medium-sized medical facilities and moderately spaced residential buildings.

Small clinics and health centres in Al Wahah typically use multiple split units or a simple centralised system, rather than large complex setups.

The AC setup in Al Wahah

  1. 1

    Multiple split units per clinic

Most small clinics in Al Wahah use separate splits per room, providing individual control and easy maintenance.

  2. 2

Simple centralised system for larger facilities

Some slightly larger health centres have a simple centralised system distributing air across several departments without major complexity.

  3. 3

Suitable outdoor spaces for unit mounting

The relative spacing between buildings in Al Wahah provides adequate space for outdoor unit mounting and easy maintenance access.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Wahah

  1. 1

Coordinate the visit time with clinic or centre management

Choose a time that fits the clinic's schedule so that maintenance does not disrupt medical service delivery.

  2. 2

Tell us where the outdoor and indoor units are located

Specify each indoor unit's location in the rooms and outdoor units on roofs or walls, so the team can plan in advance.

  3. 3

Provide access keys and security clearance

Ensure the maintenance team has access clearance to all rooms and roofs where units are located, and prepare a safe working environment.

FAQ

Questions about Hospital HVAC

How do ventilation needs differ across hospital departments?

Ventilation needs vary from one department to the next based on the activity in each area and the requirements set by the facility's designer and the site survey. Operating theatres need highly filtered, directionally controlled air, while patient rooms, corridors and administrative areas each carry different requirements. We build the duct network and select units from the facility's drawings and its specific requirements, not from general assumptions.

Can systems be maintained without stopping sensitive departments?

Yes, but it requires careful planning before the maintenance date. We agree with facility management on a schedule that names the section and the right time window, then isolate the target section using dampers and blanking plates without affecting adjacent departments. Corrective tasks such as replacing a capacitor or repairing a flare joint are carried out within the agreed time window.

What governs duct network design in a medical building?

Design is governed by the approved facility drawings and each department's requirements as defined by the site survey and the specialist designer. We fabricate ducts in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to project dimensions, and use Kimmco and Armaflex insulation with Foster sealants to control leakage. Distribution and pressure in each section follow the specifications drawn for that department individually.

Do you work with small clinics or only hospitals?

We work with medical facilities of all sizes, from a clinic in a residential district to a multi-storey medical complex. The size of the facility does not change the principle: the site survey is the starting point, and from it we determine unit types, duct dimensions and fresh-air requirements for each zone. Preventive and corrective maintenance contracts are available for clinics and hospitals alike.

Our small clinic needs simple, efficient cooling, what do you recommend?

We assess the clinic's size, number of rooms and daily usage. We may recommend multiple split units or a simple centralised system, both performing efficiently at reasonable cost.

Heat in Al Wahah is intense in summer, is standard cooling enough?

Thermal load is very high in summer, especially in examination and surgery rooms. We select sufficiently powerful units and schedule regular maintenance to ensure sustained high performance throughout the season.

Can you expand the system if we add new clinics later?

Yes, we design systems to accommodate future expansion. New units or central system branches can be added without requiring complete rebuilding.

We have water drainage issues from the AC in humid season, what should we do?

High humidity increases water condensation in indoor units. We regularly inspect and clean drain outlets and pipes, and may recommend adding a drain pump if needed.
