When you need a medical HVAC specialist

  1. 1

    Hospital or clinic under construction

The right design starts before any duct is installed, because ventilation and filtration needs differ from the surgical suite to the waiting area. An early survey saves costly alterations after the building is finished.

  2. 2

Departments reporting warm air or odours

In an existing medical building, weak cooling in one department or odours crossing into an adjacent area signals an imbalance in the air distribution or extraction system. Finding the cause needs measurement, not guesswork.

  3. 3

Maintenance contract for a running facility

A hospital does not close for equipment servicing. We schedule preventive maintenance visits department by department, coordinated with facility management, and carry out repairs with the smallest possible effect on daily operations.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Survey and requirements

We visit the facility, map the heat loads and air requirements for each department, and agree the duct routes before any design work begins.

  2. 2

    Design and supply

We design the duct network and fabricate it in our own workshop to SMACNA specifications, and supply units from our authorised brands: Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold.

  3. 3

    Phased coordinated installation

In operating buildings we work with management to phase the installation so adjacent departments stay open, and control dust and noise away from patient areas.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and follow-up

We commission the systems, measure airflow in each department, and adjust the dampers until the design requirements are met, then hand over the facility with a maintenance plan.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Modern expanded hospitals in Quba combine intensive care, operating theatres and outpatient clinics, each requiring precise control of temperature, humidity and air quality. The typical hospital building in the north-east sector has wide roofs for outdoor unit placement and complex internal corridors that need a central ducted network. Close coordination with hospital management and medical staff is essential to ensure any maintenance or upgrade does not disrupt ongoing patient care.

Quba lies in Jeddah's north-east, a sector of modern expanded buildings including hospitals and specialised medical centres.

Most hospitals here run unified central AC systems with separate controls per department, requiring regular maintenance without service interruption.

The AC setup in Quba

  1. 1

Unified central system with separate departmental controls

Most hospitals use one central duct network with separate control zones for each department to maintain clinical independence and flexibility.

  2. 2

    Distributed outdoor units on roof

Quba's large hospital roofs provide ample space to spread outdoor units away from sensitive zones and clinical areas.

  3. 3

    High-grade filters for sterile air

Operating and intensive care units require HEPA-grade or equivalent filters to remove fine particulates and maintain patient safety.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Quba

  1. 1

Coordinate visit time with hospital management

Tell us the schedules of sensitive departments and non-critical services so we can pick the best time for maintenance or survey without affecting ongoing care.

  2. 2

Ensure access to roofs and internal duct routes

Confirm that our team can safely reach the roof and the internal duct spaces and passages we may need to inspect or clean.

  3. 3

Designate a safe team meeting point

Give us a clear entry point inside or near the hospital where the team can wait and coordinate without blocking traffic in clinical corridors and operating areas.

FAQ

Questions about Hospital HVAC

How do ventilation needs differ across hospital departments?

Ventilation needs vary from one department to the next based on the activity in each area and the requirements set by the facility's designer and the site survey. Operating theatres need highly filtered, directionally controlled air, while patient rooms, corridors and administrative areas each carry different requirements. We build the duct network and select units from the facility's drawings and its specific requirements, not from general assumptions.

Can systems be maintained without stopping sensitive departments?

Yes, but it requires careful planning before the maintenance date. We agree with facility management on a schedule that names the section and the right time window, then isolate the target section using dampers and blanking plates without affecting adjacent departments. Corrective tasks such as replacing a capacitor or repairing a flare joint are carried out within the agreed time window.

What governs duct network design in a medical building?

Design is governed by the approved facility drawings and each department's requirements as defined by the site survey and the specialist designer. We fabricate ducts in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to project dimensions, and use Kimmco and Armaflex insulation with Foster sealants to control leakage. Distribution and pressure in each section follow the specifications drawn for that department individually.

Do you work with small clinics or only hospitals?

We work with medical facilities of all sizes, from a clinic in a residential district to a multi-storey medical complex. The size of the facility does not change the principle: the site survey is the starting point, and from it we determine unit types, duct dimensions and fresh-air requirements for each zone. Preventive and corrective maintenance contracts are available for clinics and hospitals alike.

How do you maintain the system without halting hospital departments?

We coordinate with hospital management to schedule maintenance at designated times or phase it by department, keeping ventilation and environmental control running in all other areas throughout.

Can you design a bespoke AC system for operating theatres and intensive care units?

Yes, we conduct a full survey of each department's temperature, humidity and air quality needs, then design the central network and separate controls for each sensitive area.

With Quba's humidity and dust, how often must filters be cleaned?

The humidity and dust levels require filter cleaning every month or six weeks depending on usage intensity, and we set a maintenance schedule suited to your needs to keep air quality consistent in sensitive departments.

Do you have experience installing outdoor units on large hospital roofs?

Yes, we follow safety protocols and spacing rules for roof installation on large spans, and coordinate with your team and contractors to ensure the placement does not interfere with construction or other services.
