When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Abu Jaalah is an emerging commercial district with scattered shops and larger gaps between buildings than Al Balad or Al Sabeel, allowing more roof and facade space for units. But the intense heat and high coastal humidity significantly increase the cooling load, especially in shops with heavy all-day traffic. Coordination with the shop or building owner remains essential because some shops never close, and maintenance must be timed precisely to avoid losing sales.

Abu Jaalah is an emerging commercial zone in south Jeddah with scattered shops and larger roof spaces for outdoor units.

Abu Jaalah shops use one split or more depending on size, with outdoor units on separate or wider roofs and facades.

The AC setup in Abu Jaalah

  1. 1

    Single or multiple independent splits

Larger shops benefit from multiple independent split units covering different areas with greater flexibility.

  2. 2

    Separate roofs for outdoor units

Unlike Al Balad and Al Sabeel, Abu Jaalah mostly has separate roofs per shop, which eases installation and maintenance.

  3. 3

Robust drainage system against coastal humidity

High humidity requires reinforced drainage and regular cleaning of pipes and pans.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Abu Jaalah

  1. 1

Identify the outdoor unit location on the roof

Ensure safe, unobstructed roof space is available for the unit, away from obstacles or hazards.

  2. 2

Schedule visits around your trading hours

If the shop is open late or round the clock, settle on the best work time with our team before the scheduled visit.

  3. 3

Confirm safe access to entry and roof

Main entry and roof must be safe and easily accessible on visit day for equipment loading and installation.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

My shop is larger, is a split system enough or do I need a central unit?

It depends on your actual size and internal layout. For over one hundred square metres on a single floor, two or three splits might suffice instead of a central system. We visit and evaluate the best option.

The intense heat is pushing up my electric bills, how can I cut consumption?

We install high-efficiency units and a smart thermostat to reduce continuous running. Regular maintenance and cleaning also improve efficiency.

My shop is open round the clock, when can you service it?

We offer flexible options like very early morning or slower lunch-period service, depending on your schedule. We agree on timing in advance to minimise disruption.

Coastal humidity affects my goods, how does the AC protect them?

We select a system with high humidity-removal capacity, install a quality filter and effective drain lines. Monthly filter and pan cleaning maintains optimal performance.
