When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Ain Al Aziziyah has mid-rise buildings mixing housing and shops, with busier streets than downtown but less cramped. Shops here are smaller than Al Rabwah's malls and need simpler AC systems, but face the same challenge of repeated door openings and intense heat. Water drainage remains critical because many shops sit next to residential flats or storage areas, and AC noise can disturb residents above them.

Al Ain Al Aziziyah lies in central Jeddah, a district of mid-rise mixed residential, commercial buildings.

Most shops here use separate split units per shop, or older window units in some cases.

The AC setup in Al Ain Al Aziziyah

  1. 1

    Separate split per shop

Most shops in Al Ain Al Aziziyah prefer their own split unit for climate control flexibility and power savings.

  2. 2

    Window units in older shops

Some shops in older Al Ain Al Aziziyah buildings still run window units, which we may upgrade to modern split systems.

  3. 3

    Vibration-damped drain lines

Condensate drain from the split can transmit vibration to flats above, so we use rubber insulators at drain points.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Ain Al Aziziyah

  1. 1

Confirm the balcony is safe and clear

If the outdoor unit will sit on the balcony, confirm the wall and roof are strong and the space is clear of obstructions.

  2. 2

Coordinate with the flat above about noise

Tell residents above about the AC installation and our noise-reduction plan, to prevent complaints later.

  3. 3

    Designate a safe drain outlet

Agree with us on a drain outlet location away from electrical wires, adjacent flats and passageways.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

Our shops are small, do we need central AC or is split enough?

Split units usually suffice for small to medium shops in Al Ain Al Aziziyah. The choice depends on floor area, door and window count. We will review your site to propose the most suitable and cost-effective solution.

The outdoor unit will sit on our small balcony, is that safe?

Yes, split units can go on small balconies if they are secure against falling or vibration. We will check with you before installation to ensure the spot is stable and safe.

Summer heat is intense and the shop is open all day, can AC keep up?

The unit will work hard at peak heat, but correct capacity and regular maintenance ensure steady performance. We size above the minimum and recommend closing blinds during peak hours.

The flat above says our AC noise bothers them, what can we do?

We mount the outdoor unit with rubber dampers to reduce vibration and noise. Choosing a higher-quality, quieter unit is the best solution. We will assess the location to minimize noise as much as possible.
