When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Hamdaniyah is a newly commercialising district with rapid mall and building projects, and the buildings are relatively new with modern construction standards and more outdoor space than older areas. The shops and malls here face very high heat loads from large doors, extensive glazing, powerful lighting and high foot traffic. The cooling systems must deliver high capacity and efficiency, and drainage requires tight planning to avoid moisture pooling on floors and merchandise.

Al Hamdaniyah is in east Jeddah, a newly growing district with new malls and retail shops in contemporary building projects.

Cooling units in Al Hamdaniyah tend to be new and energy-efficient, with malls using package and multi-head split systems to high standards.

The AC setup in Al Hamdaniyah

  1. 1

High-capacity package units for large malls

New large malls in Al Hamdaniyah install one or more high-capacity package units on the roof to cover all floors.

  2. 2

Multi-head splits for zonal temperature control

Individual shops and mid-sized malls use multi-head split systems with one outdoor unit and several advanced indoor units for separate zone control.

  3. 3

    Secure and separate drainage system

Each unit has its own separate drain line with proper slope and final discharge away from goods and stock, with humidity sensors on larger systems.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Hamdaniyah

  1. 1

Provide engineering plans for the shop or mall

Before the visit, send us detailed plans with areas, heights and insulation to design the system accurately.

  2. 2

Agree installation schedule around business hours

Coordinate with us on start date, especially if the mall or shop is already operating, to minimise disruption to customers.

  3. 3

Confirm outdoor unit and ductwork routing

Ensure sufficient space on roof or walls for outdoor units, and a clear route for running copper and pipes without obstructions.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

Our new mall has not had its HVAC tested yet, can you inspect it initially?

Yes, we provide a full inspection of the new system, testing performance, balance, drainage and electrical safety before opening.

The shops here have large entrance doors constantly in use, does this affect the AC?

Yes, large doors let in hot humid air, so we increase cooling capacity and add extra units if needed, and design drainage to handle excess moisture.

Can you install energy-efficient systems in the new mall?

Yes, we use new high-efficiency units from strong brands like Carrier, General and Midea, and coordinate with engineers to optimise design and performance.

Roof space is tight, where should I place additional outdoor units?

We review the plans and suggest options: rooftops, side walls, or separate pads away from customer entrances. We ensure proper drainage and ventilation.
