When does a factory need a specialist system?

  1. 1

    Machine heat exhausting the workers

Compressors, motors and furnaces push out steady heat that scattered split units cannot handle. We assess every heat source on site and design a system that removes that heat and delivers cooled air precisely where people work.

  2. 2

A high roof that traps hot air

Hot air rises and collects under the roof while workers suffer at floor level. Evaporator positions, airflow angles and unit sizing all depend on the ceiling height and building shape, and the site survey decides each of these.

  3. 3

    Production dust destroying equipment

In wood, metal and plastic factories, coarse dust enters units and damages compressors and coils. We select equipment suited to industrial environments and design air paths that separate cooling air from contaminated process air wherever possible.

Who it's for

  • Building a new factory that needs HVAC

We join at design stage to fix unit positions, duct routes and extraction before the roof is cast and machines are installed, so the system is built into the structure from the start.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Industrial site survey

Our team visits the factory during operation to measure actual heat from machines, map worker zones and critical processes, record ceiling heights and identify possible duct routes.

  2. 2

    System design

We design central plant, distributed units or a combination to suit the factory, and fix the positions of extraction and ventilation units, duct sizes and damper locations before you approve the work.

  3. 3

    Fabrication and installation

We fabricate duct in our own workshop from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, mount units and insulate pipework with Armaflex and Kimmco materials.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and scheduled maintenance

We commission the system, check airflow distribution, refrigerant pressure and damper balance, then set up a preventive and corrective maintenance contract timed to fit around your production shifts.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Murjan is an industrial zone specialising in food and beverage processing, where factories need strict control of temperature, humidity and dust. These factories have high ceilings and wide floors, but food production demands a clean system with strong filters and regular ventilation to prevent contamination. Heat from ovens, cooking and filling lines increases the cooling load, and moisture from steam can encourage mould in ducts if not cleaned regularly.

Al Murjan lies in north Jeddah, an industrial zone specialising in food and beverage plants and grain and sugar processing.

Most food factories in Al Murjan use central cooling units with strong HEPA filters and insulated ducts, requiring at least monthly maintenance.

The AC setup in Al Murjan

  1. 1

Central cooling unit with precise control

Food factories need a powerful central unit with precision thermostat control maintaining a tight temperature and humidity range.

  2. 2

Strong HEPA filters and multi-stage filtration

Food production demands heavy-duty filters to remove fine particles, mould and bacteria, with regular and scheduled changes.

  3. 3

Exhaust fans for excess steam and moisture

Steam from cooking and production lines needs separate extraction before entering the main AC system to protect filters and the evaporator.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Murjan

  1. 1

Identify main heat and steam sources

Tell us where the ovens, cooking lines, filling equipment and boilers are so we can design cooling and extraction to cover these zones effectively.

  2. 2

Provide target temperature and humidity ranges

Specify the temperature and relative humidity ranges required for your products and processes so we select appropriate monitoring and control equipment.

  3. 3

Agree on installation and future maintenance schedule

Since installation may require temporary production stops, coordinating the timing with management is essential, and agreeing on a monthly or weekly maintenance schedule is vital.

FAQ

Questions about Factory HVAC

Can you cool just the worker zones without cooling the whole factory?

Yes, and we do it often. We design spot cooling for workstations or worker walkways using independent units or directed duct runs, rather than trying to cool the entire building volume. The right approach depends on the site and the process, and the survey decides it.

How do you handle heavy industrial dust in Jeddah?

We select units with a protection rating suited to the industrial environment and route airflow away from dust sources where the layout allows. In scheduled maintenance we inspect and clean coils, compressors and filters before deposits build up and affect unit performance.

Do you fabricate the large ducts a factory needs?

Yes, in our own workshop we fabricate round and rectangular duct to any size the design calls for, from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, including plenums, transitions and dampers needed to control air distribution.

Can you do maintenance between production shifts?

Yes, when we set up the preventive maintenance contract we agree times that fit your production schedule, whether between shifts or on rest days. The aim is that production lines are never stopped because of maintenance work.

What is the difference between process ventilation and worker-zone air conditioning?

Process ventilation targets heat and fumes produced by machinery and production lines, using exhaust fans and calculated fresh-air inlets sized to the heat load at each source. Worker-zone air conditioning aims to maintain a tolerable temperature at floor level without cooling the full volume of the building. A site survey of each factory decides which approach fits each area.

Our food products are heat and humidity sensitive, how do you ensure stable conditions?

We design a system with precision sensors continuously monitoring temperature and humidity, and work with your team to set target ranges and instant alerts for any deviation.

Steam from cooking and production lines affects the AC, how do you handle it?

We install powerful exhaust fans near steam sources and coordinate them with the main cooling system to extract excess vapour and reduce evaporator load.

Filters get dirty fast from food dust, how often should we change them?

In food plants, we recommend checking filters weekly and changing them roughly every two weeks depending on production intensity, as part of a full maintenance contract.

Ducts can get mouldy from moisture, how do you protect them?

We use moisture and mould-resistant duct materials, smooth the internal duct walls to reduce buildup, and schedule at least monthly cleaning to ensure system health and product safety.
