When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.
Ask on WhatsAppManaging an existing commercial complex
We review the existing system and set a preventive and corrective maintenance contract scheduled outside trading hours so tenants are not affected.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.
Designed for the space or just fitted?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Air distribution | Load study per zone | One unit for the whole space |
| Ductwork | G90 sheet, sized for the job | Off-the-shelf wrong size |
| Condensate | Dedicated line away from stock | Risk of drips on shelves |
| Maintenance | Scheduled outside shop hours | Surprise outage during trade |
| Copper purity | Mueller copper, 99% pure, no welds | Unspecified pipe source |

What sets this district apart
Al Nuzlah Al Yamaniyah has developed rapidly, mixing high-rise residential blocks with mid-range commercial buildings, hosting many shops and malls serving a dense population. Heat here is intense and coastal humidity is marked, especially during long summer days. The system needs enough cooling power and humidity control to prevent water seepage and mould. Regular maintenance is essential because residential and commercial density demands heavy equipment use, and ducts and filters need more frequent cleaning than other areas.
Al Nuzlah Al Yamaniyah lies in south Jeddah, a densely built district with high-rise residential blocks, malls and retail shops.
Most large malls and retail shops here use central or semi-central systems to cover medium to large spaces, with separate control units for different sections.
The AC setup in Al Nuzlah Al Yamaniyah
- 1
Central system with overhead ducting
Modern large malls in Al Nuzlah use central systems with ducting above suspended ceilings for even distribution on each floor.
- 2
Separate control units for each retail section
Large malls need separate temperature zones for each retail section (clothing, electronics, food) because heat loads vary significantly.
- 3
Extra drainage pumps for lower levels
Lower floors and storage areas need separate condensate pumps to handle water efficiently under high humidity conditions.
Before the visit
Before our visit in Al Nuzlah Al Yamaniyah
- 1
Review the mall layout and floor plan
Send us the mall plan showing each retail section and different floor levels (raised and lower), plus the plant room location if it exists.
- 2
Schedule maintenance outside shopping hours
The mall is busy all day, so we agree on maintenance time early in the morning or after closing to avoid disrupting customers and tenants.
- 3
Confirm safe access to roofs and plant room
Check that stairs or platforms provide safe access to the roof and plant room, and let us know of any security restrictions or building maintenance that might affect our visit.

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
The area is densely built with buildings very close, is it hard to install outdoor units?
Yes, high density limits choices, but we find alternatives: safe rooftops, side walls, or even compact outdoor units. We assess each site carefully and choose the best installation point.
Humidity here is very high and mould appeared in the unit, is that normal?
Yes, coastal humidity and residential density increase moisture and mould buildup. We select units with strong humidity control and clean drain pans and filters very regularly to prevent mould.
The mall is new with suspended ceilings, do hidden ducts need special cleaning?
Yes, hidden ducts collect dust and humidity quickly, especially in humid coastal environments. We clean them regularly (every 3, 6 months depending on use) to ensure cooling efficiency and air quality.
We have a shop on a lower level in the middle of the mall, is the ventilation different there?
Yes, lower levels need special care because drainage can be difficult. We install an indoor unit with a larger drain pan and add a condensate pump if needed to ensure proper drainage.
