When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.
Ask on WhatsAppManaging an existing commercial complex
We review the existing system and set a preventive and corrective maintenance contract scheduled outside trading hours so tenants are not affected.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.
Designed for the space or just fitted?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Air distribution | Load study per zone | One unit for the whole space |
| Ductwork | G90 sheet, sized for the job | Off-the-shelf wrong size |
| Condensate | Dedicated line away from stock | Risk of drips on shelves |
| Maintenance | Scheduled outside shop hours | Surprise outage during trade |
| Copper purity | Mueller copper, 99% pure, no welds | Unspecified pipe source |

What sets this district apart
Al Ta'awun is a growing district with diverse shop sizes scattered across mixed residential and commercial buildings. This layout means each shop may need different AC sizing depending on location and floor area, and coastal proximity increases air humidity and salt content, requiring frequent maintenance and extra protection for electrical components and stock.
Al Ta'awun sits in south Jeddah, a district of varied shop sizes within mixed residential and commercial buildings near the coast.
Shops here mix independent split units and package units depending on retail size and available space.
The AC setup in Al Ta'awun
- 1
Independent split unit per small shop
Most small Al Ta'awun shops use an independent wall-mounted or balcony split unit.
- 2
Small package unit for medium shops
Larger shops may use a rooftop package unit instead of a split, with improved air distribution.
- 3
High-protection units against salt and humidity
Coastal proximity demands outdoor units with high-grade salt and weather-resistant coatings and ratings.
Before the visit
Before our visit in Al Ta'awun
- 1
Position outdoor unit away from salt spray
Choose a location for the outdoor unit away from direct sea winds and salt spray where practical.
- 2
Clarify drainage and electrical plans
Tell us precisely where AC drainage will run and where electrical supply points are, ensuring both are protected from moisture and salt.
- 3
Ensure regular maintenance access
Confirm the outdoor unit is easily accessible for monthly cleaning and maintenance, especially given the salt-laden environment.

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
My small shop is set among residential buildings, is AC different from a mall or centre?
Yes, your shop needs an independent system that responds quickly to heat without being affected by neighbouring buildings. We choose a split or small package unit based on your location and available ventilation.
Sea salt affects the AC, how do you protect it?
We select outdoor units with rust and salt-resistant coatings, and recommend monthly cleaning of the external unit and filters to remove salt and moisture.
Humidity here is very high, is AC alone enough?
The AC reduces humidity, but if your stock is very sensitive we may recommend an additional dehumidifier or separate humidity control system.
Shops here sit close together, do I need complex ductwork?
No, most small shops do not need complex ductwork. An independent split unit suffices, and for larger shops we might use simple horizontal ducts.
