When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.

What sets this district apart

Harat Al Sham is part of old downtown Jeddah with heritage buildings, narrow streets and crowded popular markets. Shops are tightly packed and outdoor space is severely limited, making new unit installation difficult and sensitive to the area's character. Many shops haven't been modernised and may need advice on refurbishing old systems. Service teams need to know tight historic areas and work in tight conditions.

Harat Al Sham lies in protected historic downtown Jeddah, a district of architecturally heritage buildings, narrow streets and crowded traditional markets.

Most shops and old cafés in Harat Al Sham rely on window units or small split systems because of severe architectural constraints.

The AC setup in Harat Al Sham

  1. 1

Heritage window units in wooden frames

Some heritage shops keep window units mounted in traditional wooden frames that blend with the historic architecture.

  2. 2

Split systems hidden behind the facade

Outdoor split units are mounted behind facades or hidden from view to preserve the district's visual character.

  3. 3

Refurbished older systems with original components

Some shops still run refurbished older systems using original components, and we recommend regular maintenance to keep them going.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Harat Al Sham

  1. 1

Identify nearest parking and best entry route

Harat Al Sham's streets are narrow and winding. Tell us the nearest parking spot the car can reach and the best walking route to the shop.

  2. 2

Confirm access to the outdoor unit if present

If you have an outdoor unit, confirm it is in a safely reachable spot, or tell us it is screened so we can offer an alternative.

  3. 3

Coordinate with shop owner and neighbours

Make sure neighbouring shop owners are comfortable with the team moving through tight passages before the visit day.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

I have an old shop in Harat Al Sham, can I upgrade the AC without changing the heritage facade?

Yes, we can relocate the outdoor unit to a less visible spot or screen it behind the facade, or use window units mounted in traditional wooden frames. We discuss the best option with you.

Harat Al Sham's streets are very narrow, how do you reach the shop with your equipment?

Our team carries tools by hand and walks from the nearest parking point. We know the tight streets in old Jeddah, and coordinate with you in advance on the best entry route.

Old downtown humidity is high and my shop has goods, can AC keep them dry?

Yes, old downtown humidity is high, especially near the sea. We choose units with strong dehumidifying capacity and inspect drain pans regularly, recommending monthly cleaning of filters and pans.

Can you fix very old AC units or do you recommend replacement?

We inspect the old unit first and tell you its condition and repair cost versus replacement. Sometimes limited repair extends its life a year or more; sometimes replacement is cheaper and more efficient. We offer both options.
