When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

What sets this district apart

Radwa is a mixed-use district with mid-rise residential blocks interspersed with shops, clinics and small food outlets along the streets. Shops here are smaller than the big northern malls, and outdoor space is limited by the blend of residential and commercial use. Eastern sun hits many shop frontages directly in morning hours, raising early-shift heat load. Equipment access needs coordination with both neighbouring residents and the shop owner.

Radwa lies in north-east Jeddah, a mixed zone of residential blocks with scattered shops and small clinics.

Most shops in Radwa use independent split units or adapted window AC, since outdoor space is tight and shops are smaller in footprint.

The AC setup in Radwa

  1. 1

Single split unit per small shop

Individual small shops in Radwa typically need just one mid-capacity split unit, economical for space and energy.

  2. 2

Dual split units for larger shops

Slightly larger shops may run two split units on one heat pump for better cooling and more even distribution.

  3. 3

Adapted window units in older shops

Some older shops still use adapted window units, a short-term fix, but we advise upgrading to split for efficiency and quietness.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Radwa

  1. 1

    Forewarning neighbouring residents

Your shop sits in a residential building, so alert neighbours well in advance about the visit time to prevent complaints about noise or work.

  2. 2

Confirm the outdoor unit location is safe

The outdoor unit may sit on a small balcony or narrow exterior wall, so verify the location is safe and suitable for mounting and servicing.

  3. 3

Pick a time outside peak hours

Radwa's streets are busy in mornings and evenings, so pick a mid-day slot or low-traffic window to keep disruption to a minimum.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

I have a small shop in a residential building, what AC suits it best?

Small shops in residential buildings typically do well with one or two split units, as they are flexible, space-saving and avoid the noise that would bother residents.

Our street is narrow and busy with residents, how do you deliver equipment quietly?

Our team works off-peak hours and carries tools by hand when needed. We agree with the shop owner on the quietest time to minimise disruption to residents.

The morning sun hits my shop from the east, will the AC cope?

Morning eastern sun ramps up heat load quickly in the early hours. You may need reflective blinds or an upgrade to AC capacity depending on your window size and floor area.

I run a small clinic and patients are sensitive to noise and drafts, how do you install?

Medical clinics need quiet units and balanced air delivery. We install high-quality splits with medical-grade filters and calibrate airflow to avoid direct draughts on patients.
