Fitted right first time
Split AC installation in Al Balad
In Al Balad, old Jeddah's tight downtown, split installation needs precision because the narrow blocks constrain the copper run and drain path. Alrabih's team positions both units carefully and prevents moisture and drips on the walls from day one.
- Mueller copper
- Full vacuum
- Proper drain

When you need a proper installer
- 1
A new unit for a room or flat
You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.
- 2
Not sure where the outdoor unit goes
In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.
- 3
A past install that went wrong
Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.
Who it's for
Moving into a new flat that needs AC
We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.
Ask on WhatsAppFitting AC in a shop or office
We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

What the installation covers
- Site check and unit positions
- Insulated copper, sealed wall core
- Drain line with correct fall
- Vacuum and leak test
- Start-up test with you present
How we work
How we work
- 1
Send a photo
WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.
- 2
Agree positions and route
On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.
- 3
Fit and vacuum
We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.
- 4
Start-up and handover
We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.
A careful install or a rushed one?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Vacuum | Pumped before start-up | Often skipped |
| Copper | Mueller, fully insulated | Patchy insulation |
| Drain | Falls, so no drips | Water down the wall |
| Outdoor unit spot | Airy and easy to reach | Wherever it fits |
| Wall opening | Sealed tight | Dust gets through |

What sets this district apart
Most Al Balad buildings are old, closely built residential and commercial blocks with small flats and narrow facades, so outdoor space for the external unit is severely limited. Splitting here calls for careful study of the insulated copper route to avoid sharp bends and drips, and finding the best mounting point on a narrow facade or small balcony without disturbing neighbours or blocking access.
Al Balad sits in the heart of historic Jeddah, a district of very old closely packed buildings clustered round the popular markets and commercial shops.
Most outdoor units here are mounted on narrow wall facades or the edges of small balconies because horizontal space is scarce.
The AC setup in Al Balad
- 1
Independent split per flat or shop
Each flat or shop in Al Balad gets its own separate split unit because the closely built blocks cannot accommodate central ducting.
- 2
Outdoor unit on a narrow facade
The outdoor unit is carefully mounted on the wall facade or a small balcony edge, respecting the space constraints.
- 3
Short insulated copper run
The copper run is relatively short but needs tight insulation and smooth bends to prevent heat loss and condensation drips.
Before the visit
Before our visit in Al Balad
- 1
Confirm indoor and outdoor unit locations
Tell us which room or shop gets the indoor unit, and where the outdoor unit can safely mount on the facade or balcony.
- 2
Ensure the facade is reachable
Check that the facade or balcony is safe to stand on during mounting, and tell us of any obstacles blocking our work.
- 3
Coordinate with the shop or building owner
If installing in a shop, tell the owner the installation date in advance, and confirm adequate power is available near the indoor unit location.

FAQ
Questions about Split AC installation
Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?
Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.
Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?
New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.
Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?
Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.
Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?
It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.
What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?
We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.
Is split installation difficult in the small flats of Al Balad?
No, but it needs careful planning. We study the best location for each unit and select the right capacity for the space before installation.
The facades are very narrow, how do you mount the outdoor unit?
We study the facade and balcony or wall depth beforehand, and choose a sturdy bracket that fits the available space without dangerous overhang.
Al Balad's humidity is high, does the drain need special care?
Yes, we ensure the drain pipe slopes correctly from the indoor unit all the way out of the building to prevent water pooling and mould.
What causes drips on the wall after installation?
Drips come from poor copper insulation or incorrect drain slope. We fully evacuate the refrigerant line and test the slope before start-up to prevent them.
