Split AC installation in Al Furqan

In Al Furqan, north Jeddah, split installation calls for careful copper routing and drain placement because most homes here are modern villas with spacious outdoor areas. Alrabih's team positions both units precisely, runs insulated lines, and vacuums the system before start-up to ensure quiet cooling with no drips.

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Furqan is a relatively modern district of separate villas and mid-rise apartment blocks with adequate outdoor space for the units. The available ground allows longer horizontal copper runs without many architectural obstacles, but the high summer heat in the north puts heavy load on the system, so insulation and routing need care to prevent refrigerant leaks and efficiency loss. Coordination with the villa or building owner about outdoor-unit placement is straightforward because Al Furqan's streets are wide.

Al Furqan lies in north Jeddah and mixes modern villas with mid-rise apartment blocks in a rapidly expanding district.

Most villas in Al Furqan need copper runs of 5 to 10 metres because outdoor units are usually mounted on outer walls or back yards.

The AC setup in Al Furqan

  1. 1

One or more split units depending on villa size

Modern villas in Al Furqan often need one unit for the living areas and another for the back rooms, depending on the house layout and size.

  2. 2

Insulated copper run between the two units

Insulated copper is routed through villa walls or along the ceiling to reduce heat loss and ensure even cooling across the rooms.

  3. 3

Outdoor unit in the yard or wall-mounted

The outdoor unit is positioned to ensure good airflow and not obstruct passages or future maintenance access.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Furqan

  1. 1

Decide on the outdoor unit location

Choose the best spot for the outdoor unit with the team before installation, on a wall or in the yard, away from windows and seating areas.

  2. 2

    Check the electrical distribution panel

Ensure the villa's main electrical panel has enough capacity and a spare circuit is available for the split.

  3. 3

Tell the team about obstacles and distances

Brief the team on the approximate distance from the living room to the outside space and any architectural obstacles that might affect the copper run.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

My villa is new, what marks a proper split installation from a poor one?

Proper installation means insulating the copper from the start, angling the drain away from the foundation, and vacuuming the line before charging. Poor installation leads to leaks and rapid loss of cooling power.

My villa's back yard is tight, can we mount the outdoor unit on the wall?

Yes, we can mount it on the villa's outer wall provided there is enough airflow around the unit and safe access for maintenance. We determine the best spot on the first visit.

The fierce heat in the north, does it affect which split model to choose?

Yes, high summer heat demands units with higher cooling capacity and efficiency. We assess the villa's size, insulation and windows before recommending the right capacity.

How much electrical power does a split unit draw in a villa?

It depends on the unit's capacity, but most villa splits need a dedicated circuit rated at least 15 amps. We inspect the electrical panel before installation.
