Split AC installation in Al Majd

In Al Majd, east Jeddah, split installation needs precision with the copper run and drain because the modern villas here are spaced well apart with ample outdoor space. Alrabih's team positions both units carefully, vacuums the line before start-up, and the split cools quietly from day one.

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.

What sets this district apart

Al Majd's modern villas sit on spacious plots with good distance between indoor and outdoor units, giving more freedom to place the outdoor unit away from the main facade. The larger outdoor spaces reduce pressure on positioning, but the copper run needs tight insulation against the high heat and coastal humidity.

Al Majd is a modern suburb in the north-east, built of spacious detached villas on ample plots away from central Jeddah.

Most villas here need high-capacity splits because of the high heat and humidity, and outdoor units are positioned away from the front facade.

The AC setup in Al Majd

  1. 1

High-capacity split for a single villa

Detached villas in Al Majd typically need one high-capacity split or several independent units depending on room layout.

  2. 2

Long copper run with heavy insulation

The large distances between units need thicker copper pipes and heavy insulation against the intense outdoor heat.

  3. 3

Outdoor unit positioned in a sheltered spot

Outdoor units are placed in the garden or side yard away from the front and in a well-ventilated area.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Majd

  1. 1

Share the villa layout and distances

Send the villa layout or photos showing room placement and where you want the indoor and outdoor units, plus the approximate distance between them.

  2. 2

Decide on outdoor unit placement beforehand

Choose a safe spot away from the front facade, such as the side yard or garden, and explain your choice when we visit.

  3. 3

Ensure roof and wall access for installation

Confirm the team can safely reach the roof and external walls for unit mounting and runs, especially if there are obstacles or steps.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

Modern villas in Al Majd need powerful splits, how do I choose the right size?

It depends on the villa's size, room count, sun exposure and window area. We visit, measure the space, and recommend the right unit before installation.

Can you run the copper line over a long distance from outdoor to indoor unit?

Yes, but longer distances need thicker insulation and larger pipe diameter. Long runs in the heat and humidity require special handling to avoid performance loss.

Villas in Al Majd get intense heat exposure, does that affect the split's performance?

Yes, high heat and coastal humidity increase the load on the outdoor unit. We choose high-capacity models and position the outdoor unit in shade or well-ventilated spots.

Where should I place the outdoor unit in my villa to keep it safe and hidden?

It depends on your villa's design, walls and landscaping. We suggest a spot that balances front-facade distance, good airflow and protection from strong winds.
