Split AC installation in Al Shiraa

In Al Shiraa, north Jeddah, split AC installation in the spacious residential areas of modern villas and apartment blocks requires careful placement. Alrabih's team positions both units precisely, runs insulated copper and properly sloped drain lines, and evacuates the system before start-up.

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Shiraa's districts feature modern villas with gardens and spaced apartment blocks with ample outdoor space, allowing the outdoor unit to sit well away from main walls and roads. This design offers greater flexibility in routing copper and drainage without tight spatial constraints, but longer runs must maintain the proper slope throughout to prevent water pooling. Modern villas also typically have robust independent electrical systems that support larger unit installation.

Al Shiraa lies in north Jeddah, a spacious modern residential district of detached villas and apartment blocks set apart with gardens and open grounds.

Most villas and modern apartment blocks in Al Shiraa need medium to high-capacity split units, with the outdoor unit often ground-mounted or set on a rear wall away from street-facing facades.

The AC setup in Al Shiraa

  1. 1

High-capacity split unit ground-mounted in the garden

Large modern villas need 3 to 5-ton units, and ample outdoor space allows stable concrete mounting well away from direct wind exposure.

  2. 2

Long insulated copper run with proper slope

Long runs from inside the villa to the garden need full insulation and UV protection, with consistent slope for drainage throughout.

  3. 3

Indoor unit in the living room or main hall

Most villas accommodate the indoor unit in open shared spaces, allowing efficient cold air distribution throughout the villa.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Shiraa

  1. 1

Decide on outdoor unit placement in advance

Work with our team to pick the best spot in the garden or rear courtyard, stable and away from trees and standing water.

  2. 2

    Confirm available electrical capacity

Check your main electrical panel and let us know the available capacity, or if you will need a separate circuit run by your electrician.

  3. 3

Clear the path for copper and drainage runs

Ensure the path from indoors to the outdoor unit is clear of obstacles, with no existing water pipes or wiring in the way that would impede the run.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

My villa has a large garden, where should the outdoor unit go?

The outdoor unit can be ground-mounted in a stable spot or on a rear wall away from the front facade, but the copper line must slope properly from indoor to outdoor for water to drain correctly.

The copper run will be long from the villa to the garden unit, is that an issue?

Longer runs are feasible and safe, but must be fully insulated and protected from sun and moisture, and the slope remains critical to prevent water accumulation in the pipes.

Al Shiraa villas are often close to the coastal area, does salty humid air affect the installation?

Coastal humidity and salt air accelerate oxidation of exterior metal parts, so we use high-grade copper and protected fittings to ensure long-term performance.

Modern villas have robust wiring, how do you connect the unit?

We inspect the existing electrical connection and confirm it supports the unit's load, and coordinate with the building's electrician if needed to provision a dedicated safe circuit.
