Split AC installation in Al Yusr

In Al Yusr, north Jeddah, where spacious villas and apartments cluster in relatively modern neighbourhoods, split installation benefits from ample outdoor space and well-planned building layouts. Alrabih's team places both units precisely and vacuums the copper line before start-up to deliver instant, cool operation from day one.

  • Mueller copper
  • Full vacuum
  • Proper drain

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Yusr is a developed residential district mixing large villas with mid-rise apartment buildings, both designed with separate courtyards and service areas that provide ample space for pipe runs. Modern buildings here often include pre-routed spaces for air conditioning from the original design, making it straightforward to place outdoor units and drains without major changes. The moderate humidity compared to tight coastal zones reduces mould risk, but the dry, hot summer air demands strong copper insulation to prevent cooling loss.

Al Yusr is in north Jeddah, a district of modern, well-spaced villas and apartment blocks with organised service courtyards.

Villas in Al Yusr typically use one or two split units, while apartment blocks mount separate splits per flat or flat section.

The AC setup in Al Yusr

  1. 1

Independent split per flat or section

Each residential unit in Al Yusr needs its own split system to avoid shared drains and noise between neighbours.

  2. 2

    Outdoor units in service courtyards

Separate service courtyards in modern buildings provide safe space away from residential facades for placing outdoor units.

  3. 3

Copper routes planned in original design

Most modern buildings in Al Yusr have pre-drilled openings for runs from the original contractor, making copper placement straightforward without major changes.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Yusr

  1. 1

Tell us the service courtyard location and entry

Clarify where the service courtyard is and the best entrance for the team to reach it easily from the street.

  2. 2

Coordinate with building management or villa owner

If you're in an apartment block, notify management of the installation date in advance; if in a villa, ensure the garden is accessible to the team at that time.

  3. 3

Verify the planned routing in the building

Ask the builder or building management for a diagram showing routing openings and drain points so we know the best path before arriving.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

Villas and apartments in Al Yusr differ, how do you choose the right split for each?

We measure the room or flat area and factor in thermal insulation and sun exposure, recommending the right capacity for each case.

Do the service courtyards in Al Yusr's modern buildings help with installation?

Very much so; these courtyards provide a clear route for copper and drain from the flat to the outdoor unit location without cutting walls.

The air in Al Yusr is dry and hot, does that affect installation?

We use thick thermal insulation on the copper to prevent cooling loss in the lines before they reach the indoor unit.

Are outdoor units in service courtyards safe from damage?

We mount them on robust brackets away from busy pathways, and add a protective guard where possible, though the final location depends on the building plan and agreement with the building management.
