When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

  • Managing a staff housing building that needs practical cooling

We survey each room and its existing openings, then install units in level frames with the correct outward tilt in every room as the survey findings direct.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Asla'a is a coastal residential area very close to the sea, with villas, residential flats and some older apartment buildings. Humidity here is very high and salt air concentration is intense, meaning every frame, gap and fixing is exposed to rapid corrosion. Wooden frames swell and shrink dramatically from large daily humidity swings, and aluminium frames corrode if not protected by strong sealing. Window AC installation requires superior-resistance materials and exceptional precision in sealing, drainage and mounting.

Al Asla'a sits on Jeddah's east coast directly, a coastal residential area with very high salt concentration and salinity in air and environment.

Window frames in Al Asla'a are under intense pressure from salt and humidity, and outdoor units need frequent regular cleaning and extra corrosion protection.

The AC setup in Al Asla'a

  1. 1

Window AC on salt-affected wooden coastal frame

Wooden frames in Al Asla'a are under intense salt and humidity pressure and may need treatment or reinforcement before AC mounting.

  2. 2

Mounting on a protected wall or sheltered corner

Walls exposed to wind and salt may not be suitable, so we choose sheltered corners or side walls away from strong winds.

  3. 3

Outdoor unit with strong brackets and precise drainage

Equipment and brackets must be to the highest standards to withstand intense coastal pressure, rapid corrosion and large seasonal swings.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Asla'a

  1. 1

Inspect frame and wall condition before the visit

Ensure frame and wall are free of deep rust and severe corrosion. If you see red or black rust marks, tell us in advance.

  2. 2

Identify the best location for the outdoor unit

Identify different points (balcony, side wall, corner) for us to assess which offers best protection from wind, salt and humidity.

  3. 3

Ensure a nearby power point is available

Check a nearby power outlet exists, is safe and in good condition. If distant or damaged, tell us so we can plan safe extension.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

Salt corrodes everything here, how do you protect my AC from rust?

We use top-grade silicone and insulation resistant to salt and humidity. We arrange monthly outdoor unit cleaning and fortnightly filter cleaning to extend the AC's life.

Humidity affects wood, will my wooden window frame support the AC?

We inspect first. Old wooden frames in Al Asla'a may be affected by severe swelling and shrinking. If not strong enough, we recommend reinforcement or replacement before installation.

My flat has high humidity and water seeps from walls, can you install?

We inspect the wall and surrounding area before installation. If the wall is very damp, AC mounting may not be safe. We recommend addressing the underlying moisture first, then installation.

Where should I place the outdoor unit? The balcony is small and walls face strong winds.

We inspect the site and choose the strongest point most sheltered from wind. We may mount on a side wall or better-protected corners rather than a small balcony. We use strong, high-standard brackets.
