Window AC installation in Al Baghdadiyah Al Gharbiyah

Window AC installation in Al Baghdadiyah Al Gharbiyah requires special care given the dense residential buildings and facades exposed to hot salty air. Alrabih's team ensures the frame is level, seals every gap, and tilts the unit to drain condensate safely outside.

When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Baghdadiyah Al Gharbiyah is a medium-density residential district with mixed old and new apartment blocks, many of which lack central AC and rely on window units in outward or courtyard-facing windows. Facades here face direct exposure to hot air, dust-laden winds and sea salt, making airtight sealing around the frame critical to prevent air leaks and damp on interior walls.

Al Baghdadiyah Al Gharbiyah sits in central Jeddah, a residential area mixing older and newer blocks with open street-facing facades.

Most flats here use window units in bedroom and living-room windows, and frames need careful checking to confirm they are level and strong enough to bear the unit's weight.

The AC setup in Al Baghdadiyah Al Gharbiyah

  1. 1

Window unit in a bedroom or living-room window

Most flats here mount the unit in a main window to cool the room quickly, so the frame needs a full check for level and sound masonry all around it.

  2. 2

Extra insulation around frame edges against outdoor air

Street-facing facades need thick insulation around the edges and a tight seal to keep out hot air, salt and dust from outside.

  3. 3

Unit tilted outward for proper condensate drainage

We tilt the unit gently outward so water flows away from the inside wall, preventing dampness and mould.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Baghdadiyah Al Gharbiyah

Before the visit, confirm the frame looks level visually and has no cracks or damage in the surrounding masonry.

  2. 2

Provide safe access for the team and the window

Tell us the nearest parking spot and ensure the team can reach the window from inside without furniture or obstacles blocking the way.

  3. 3

Clear the area around the window

Remove furniture and items from around the window, and make sure there is enough space for the team to work safely without damaging anything.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

My window frame is old, can it hold the AC unit safely?

We inspect the frame first to confirm it is level and the masonry around it is sound, and if bracing is needed we tell you before we start.

The street is narrow and there's no nearby parking, how will the team access the flat?

We need you to confirm the nearest parking point and either provide the flat key or arrange access with the building attendant beforehand.

Hot air and salt from the street seep around my window unit, how do you stop this?

We fill every gap around the frame with moisture-resistant insulation and seal it with weatherproof sealant, and tilt the unit slightly outward so condensate drains away.

Condensate drips from my unit down the inside wall, how do you prevent that?

During installation we ensure the unit tilts slightly outward and the condensate drain is clean and routed outside, which directs all water away from the wall.
