When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Yaqoot is a relatively modern residential district with mid-rise apartment blocks and flats with uniform window sizes. Most residents choose window units for ease of installation and upkeep, but the coastal location means higher exposure to humidity, salt and dust, so good sealing around the frame is critical to prevent leaks and corrosion. We focus on perfectly levelling the frame and filling every gap with strong sealant.

Al Yaqoot lies in north Jeddah, a modern residential district of uniformly designed apartment blocks with small to mid-sized flats.

Most windows here are standard sizes due to uniform modern designs, which simplifies installation but requires precise sealing against coastal salt.

The AC setup in Al Yaqoot

  1. 1

Window units in standardized window openings

Al Yaqoot's modern windows come in uniform sizes, making window unit installation straightforward with a good fit for the chassis.

  2. 2

    Extra sealing for salt-laden air

The coastal setting demands stronger sealing around the frame to protect the unit from salt and moisture that seeps through small gaps.

  3. 3

Proper power connection to a nearby outlet

Most windows are near wall outlets, but we confirm a safe socket is available near the window before installation.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Yaqoot

  2. 2

Identify safe parking near the building

Residential buildings in Al Yaqoot are crowded with parked cars, so point us to the nearest safe and easy-to-reach parking spot from the street.

  3. 3

Check the window frame before the visit

Inspect the frame and supports around the window and let us know if you notice any cracks or weakness in the structure before installation.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

My flat is new, can the window frame support the unit's weight?

Most Al Yaqoot windows have strong modern frames, but we inspect the frame and supports during measurement to confirm they can safely carry the weight before we install.

The flat is locked and the building is full of parked cars, how do you get in?

We need to arrange in advance with the flat owner to unlock the door before the team arrives. For parking, let us know the nearest safe spot close to the building entrance.

The coastal salt rusts everything, does proper sealing protect the unit?

Yes, full sealing around the frame stops salty air from entering gaps, which keeps the metal parts from early corrosion.

The flat is on the sixth floor, can your team reach it with the tools?

Yes, we use the lift or stairs as available and carry the hand tools easily. Just ensure the lift is large enough for the unit and team together.
