When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Dhahban is a remote coastal area in far-north Jeddah, with villas and flats spread wide apart. The coastal location means direct exposure to salty air and very high humidity, and salt penetrates rapidly through any small frame gap. Window installation here requires strict sealing of all gaps and very strong insulation around the unit to stop salty air and moisture leaking in. The frame must also tilt fully outward so condensate drains well away from villa foundations and metal fences.

Dhahban sits at the far north tip of Jeddah on the coast, a remote coastal area with spread-out villas and flats in salty damp air.

Windows here are highly exposed to salt and moisture, and frames may need extra maintenance because of seaborne air corrosion.

The AC setup in Dhahban

  1. 1

Window in a coastal villa or flat

Coastal windows in Dhahban are salt and moisture-exposed, so installation needs very strong insulation and thorough frame inspection.

  2. 2

Metal frame that may need reinforcement

Metal frames in coastal villas may be salt-corroded, and we may need extra bracing or realignment.

  3. 3

    Electrical connection protected from moisture

The unit's power line must be protected from moisture and salt, we recommend checking your board and ensuring safe insulation.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Dhahban

  1. 1

Inspect the window and frame condition

Ensure the frame is sound and not salt-corroded before the visit, and tell us if you see any cracks or corrosion.

  2. 2

    Confirm safe access

In isolated villas, ensure the path from entry to the window is safe, clear of obstacles and hanging wires.

  3. 3

    Check the electrical connections

Review your circuit board before you call us to identify the right circuit and ensure insulation is adequate against moisture and salt.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

Does salt and humidity from the sea affect the frame and unit?

Very much so, Dhahban is highly coastal and salt corrodes frames and metal parts quickly. We seal gaps extremely firmly, use very strong insulation, and ensure condensate drains completely away.

Do foundations and walls suffer from condensate drainage in a coastal area?

Yes, moisture and salt amplify the damage. We ensure the unit is fully tilted outward and condensate runs well away from foundations and metal fences.

The isolated villas in Dhahban, how do you bring the equipment?

The area is spread out with wide roads, we bring the unit in easily. We ask you to confirm the path from entry to the window is clear and obstacle-free.

In a coastal villa, is the electrical connection safe from moisture and salt?

It depends on the wiring's age and condition. We recommend checking your circuit board beforehand, and we verify safe connection and electrical insulation during installation.
