When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart

Al Mawaddah is a medium-density district with older residential buildings and small shops, many of whose old window units have not yet been replaced with modern splits. Window units lose efficiency under east-side summer heat, especially if dust builds up or seals crack. Precise, affordable repair beats replacement, particularly if the leak or noise stems from something simple like a dirty filter or blocked drain.

Al Mawaddah lies in east Jeddah, a district of relatively older residential blocks of medium height and moderately wide streets.

Window units in Al Mawaddah are typically mounted on flat-facing facades exposed to the main street and accumulate dust and coastal moisture quickly.

The AC setup in Al Mawaddah

  1. 1

    Individual window unit per flat

Most flats in Al Mawaddah rely on one or two window units depending on flat size and number of rooms.

  2. 2

Mounting on front or side facades

Units are typically mounted on flat-facing facades or side walls, exposed to dust and direct heat.

  3. 3

Small shops still using older window units

Some small shops in Al Mawaddah still rely on older window units that need regular maintenance to keep cooling effective.

Before the visit

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

My window unit drips inside the flat, do I need to buy a new one?

Not necessarily. The drain may be blocked or the unit tilted wrong. We come and diagnose the cause, clean it, or advise you on repair versus replacement based on the unit's actual condition.

My unit is old but still strong, is window AC servicing affordable?

Yes, servicing a window unit is far cheaper than replacing the whole thing. We clean it and fix simple faults at a reasonable cost.

Does east-side intense summer heat affect my window unit's efficiency?

Yes, intense heat and direct sun exposure reduce the unit's efficiency, and coastal dust speeds up coil buildup. We clean it regularly so it keeps better performance.

The outdoor part is mounted on my flat's front facade, can you reach it easily?

Yes, we reach front facades facing the street with ease. Just tell us before the visit if there are any obstacles or special safety instructions.
