When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Hazza'iyah is a relatively modern district with retail shops, restaurant chains and contemporary cafés, many fitted with several display units in the frontage and counters. Humidity and heat are high, and dust from the roads seeps into the condenser, cutting cool airflow and raising shelf temperatures. Shops here need regular scheduled servicing because a broken unit means fast product loss and brand reputation damage.

Al Hazza'iyah is in north-east Jeddah, a modern commercial district of retail shops, restaurants and cafés in close clusters.

Most display units here are vertical or horizontal cabinets with single or double glass doors, with top or rear condensers directly exposed to the zone's humidity and dust.

The AC setup in Al Hazza'iyah

  1. 1

Vertical display units with glass doors

The most common display type in Al Hazza'iyah shops and restaurants, placed on the frontage to show drinks and pastries directly to customers.

  2. 2

    Horizontal chillers with sliding tops

Found in modern shops and cafés, especially for ice cream and frozen items, and need constant cleaning of their glass tops.

  3. 3

Top and rear condensers with direct exposure

Condensers here face direct exposure to street dust and moisture, so they need regular checks to prevent fan blockage.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Hazza'iyah

  1. 1

Ensure the team can access the shop

Let us know if the unit's location is easily accessible to the team, or if we need to coordinate with the shop owner.

  2. 2

Clear space around the condenser for inspection

Make sure the space around the condenser is clear of stock and boxes, so the team can reach it easily during inspection and cleaning.

  3. 3

Prepare photos of any fogging or visible faults

If the glass is fogged or you spot faults, take one photo and send it before the visit so the team arrives ready for the issue.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My display fridge's glass is fogged, is that a compressor issue?

Fogged glass may be climate-related to Al Hazza'iyah's humidity, but usually signals weak airflow or a failed air curtain. We check the full circuit and clean the condenser and fans as needed.

My unit's condenser clogs with street dust quickly, how often should we clean it?

In Al Hazza'iyah, the condenser and fans should be inspected monthly or bimonthly at minimum because of road dust. We recommend a regular servicing plan to hold performance steady.

My shelves cool unevenly, drinks at the bottom are warmer than the top, how do I fix this?

Uneven shelf cooling points to weak airflow distribution or a partial blockage in the ducts. We check the air curtain and clear any obstruction.

Where should I place the unit to avoid direct sun and moisture exposure?

The condenser needs free airflow, away from direct sunlight and fumes from cooking or cleaning. At our visit, we advise the best spot to ensure the unit's performance and lifespan.
