Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Petromin is known for heavy factories and warehouses with high ceilings and large open spans, requiring complex central AC ductwork with multiple branches and sharp transitions. Cutting duct on site cannot meet the tight tolerances these large buildings demand and can lead to air leakage and efficiency loss. Fabricating duct in the workshop from galvanised or aluminium sheet to exact site measurements and drawings ensures perfect fit and optimal performance on installation.

Petromin in south Jeddah is a dense industrial zone of large factories, warehouses and workshops with complex mechanical installations.

Most industrial buildings in Petromin run central cooling with rectangular duct and multiple branches covering production and storage zones.

The AC setup in Petromin

  1. 1

Complex rectangular duct with multiple branches

Large factories need a main rectangular duct with multiple branches to cover different production and storage areas.

  2. 2

Sharp bends and transitions to fit the building layout

Warehouse design sometimes demands sharp transitions in the duct run, and we fabricate these precisely in the workshop to prevent leakage.

  3. 3

Custom connections for central cooling units

Each central cooling unit has specific opening dimensions, and we fabricate takeoffs and connections that match exactly.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Petromin

  1. 1

Obtain engineering drawings or precise measurements

Provide engineering drawings for the system or precise site measurements before the visit so we can start fabrication straight away.

  2. 2

Confirm the exact duct route and branch locations

Confirm the main duct route, branch positions and outlets before the visit to avoid any on-site modifications.

  3. 3

Coordinate the installation plan and safe access

Discuss with us the installation plan, safe access points and any scaffolding needed for tall buildings before we start.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

Our large spaces need complex ductwork, can you fabricate it to engineering drawings?

Yes, we read the engineering drawings and measure the site precisely, then fabricate rectangular and round duct with transitions, elbows and takeoffs in our workshop before delivery.

High warehouse ceilings make access difficult, does that affect installation?

Yes, tall industrial buildings require careful planning for access and scaffolding, so we agree on the installation plan and safe access points before starting.

Petromin's intense heat affects outdoor ductwork efficiency, how do you handle it?

We use high-grade galvanised materials and may add thermal insulation to suit the system, to maintain air temperature inside the duct across long runs in the open.

How does duct fabricated in your workshop connect to the central unit without leaks?

We fabricate the takeoffs and joints to high precision to match the unit dimensions and openings, so they arrive ready for direct installation with no field cutting or adjustment.
