Industrial cooling done right

Factory HVAC in Breiman

In Breiman, east Jeddah, where factories and small to medium workshops cluster, factory HVAC must handle relentless heat from production lines, furnaces and compressors. Alrabih designs a cooling and ventilation system that protects floor workers and serves the production process across the shift.

When does a factory need a specialist system?

  1. 1

    Machine heat exhausting the workers

Compressors, motors and furnaces push out steady heat that scattered split units cannot handle. We assess every heat source on site and design a system that removes that heat and delivers cooled air precisely where people work.

  2. 2

A high roof that traps hot air

Hot air rises and collects under the roof while workers suffer at floor level. Evaporator positions, airflow angles and unit sizing all depend on the ceiling height and building shape, and the site survey decides each of these.

  3. 3

    Production dust destroying equipment

In wood, metal and plastic factories, coarse dust enters units and damages compressors and coils. We select equipment suited to industrial environments and design air paths that separate cooling air from contaminated process air wherever possible.

Who it's for

  • Building a new factory that needs HVAC

We join at design stage to fix unit positions, duct routes and extraction before the roof is cast and machines are installed, so the system is built into the structure from the start.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Industrial site survey

Our team visits the factory during operation to measure actual heat from machines, map worker zones and critical processes, record ceiling heights and identify possible duct routes.

  2. 2

    System design

We design central plant, distributed units or a combination to suit the factory, and fix the positions of extraction and ventilation units, duct sizes and damper locations before you approve the work.

  3. 3

    Fabrication and installation

We fabricate duct in our own workshop from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, mount units and insulate pipework with Armaflex and Kimmco materials.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and scheduled maintenance

We commission the system, check airflow distribution, refrigerant pressure and damper balance, then set up a preventive and corrective maintenance contract timed to fit around your production shifts.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.

What sets this district apart

Breiman's factories vary widely in size and type, from small assembly shops to medium production plants, with high ceilings to accommodate heavy machinery and materials. Heat builds quickly in these large open spaces, and industrial dust clogs ventilation filters within days. The system must produce enough cold air to cool a vast area without halting production, and requires intensive regular cleaning to keep operations running.

Breiman sits in Jeddah's east industrial sector, a busy zone of factories, small and medium workshops, and large warehouses.

Most factories here use central or semi-central cooling units because of the large spaces, with the outdoor unit mounted on the roof or an external corner away from the production line.

The AC setup in Breiman

  1. 1

    High-capacity central cooling system

Large factories in Breiman need a powerful central cooling unit covering vast areas, with distribution ducts spread across the shop floor.

  2. 2

    Rooftop or ceiling-mounted cooling units

Outdoor units are roof-mounted to avoid using floor space and keep production lines clear.

  3. 3

Industrial ventilation systems with heavy-duty filters

Because of heavy industrial dust, we use heavy-duty filters and continuous ventilation to remove contaminants and keep air quality on the floor acceptable.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Breiman

  1. 1

Confirm safe parking and roof access route

Let us know where the team can safely park and how to safely reach the roof or outdoor unit without blocking the production line.

  2. 2

Schedule the visit around your production shift

Choose a time with us that suits your production schedule so work lines do not stop during the check and cleaning.

  3. 3

Ensure filter and duct access is clear

Check that the filters, duct outlets, and outdoor unit are all easily accessible before the visit.

FAQ

Questions about Factory HVAC

Can you cool just the worker zones without cooling the whole factory?

Yes, and we do it often. We design spot cooling for workstations or worker walkways using independent units or directed duct runs, rather than trying to cool the entire building volume. The right approach depends on the site and the process, and the survey decides it.

How do you handle heavy industrial dust in Jeddah?

We select units with a protection rating suited to the industrial environment and route airflow away from dust sources where the layout allows. In scheduled maintenance we inspect and clean coils, compressors and filters before deposits build up and affect unit performance.

Do you fabricate the large ducts a factory needs?

Yes, in our own workshop we fabricate round and rectangular duct to any size the design calls for, from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, including plenums, transitions and dampers needed to control air distribution.

Can you do maintenance between production shifts?

Yes, when we set up the preventive maintenance contract we agree times that fit your production schedule, whether between shifts or on rest days. The aim is that production lines are never stopped because of maintenance work.

What is the difference between process ventilation and worker-zone air conditioning?

Process ventilation targets heat and fumes produced by machinery and production lines, using exhaust fans and calculated fresh-air inlets sized to the heat load at each source. Worker-zone air conditioning aims to maintain a tolerable temperature at floor level without cooling the full volume of the building. A site survey of each factory decides which approach fits each area.

Heat from our furnaces and machines overwhelms the AC, how do you tackle that?

We measure the actual heat load from your equipment and design a cooling system with greater capacity, distributing cold air outlets so they reach hot production zones directly.

Parking and roof access at the factory can be difficult, how do you get your team there?

Before the visit, we agree with you on a safe parking spot and a clear route to the roof or outdoor unit without disrupting production.

Industrial dust clogs the filters quickly, how often should they be cleaned?

It depends on your production type and dust output, but in Breiman we typically recommend filter inspection and cleaning every week or two to keep airflow steady.

Can the cooling system work while you maintain it without stopping production?

Yes, we schedule maintenance and cleaning around your production hours, and where possible we isolate parts of the system gradually to avoid a total halt.
