When your commercial fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Temperature creeping up slowly

The fridge runs but no longer reaches its old temperature. In Jeddah's hot kitchens, grease builds on the condenser quickly, robbing it of the ability to shed heat and straining the compressor. We check the blockage on site and decide what is needed.

  2. 2

    Condenser fan stopped or slowed

The condenser fan draws air across the condensing coil. When it stops or slows, heat rises fast and the compressor cuts out on its thermal protector. We test the motor and the run capacitor and replace what has failed as part of the repair.

  3. 3

    Door gasket not sealing properly

A cracked or burned gasket lets warm, humid kitchen air in constantly. The result is a compressor that never rests, condensation forming inside the cabinet and an unstable temperature. We measure the existing gasket and replace it with the right size for that door.

WhatsApp us the make, model and the fault you see, plus your district, so the technician arrives with the right tools and likely parts.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

We check the condenser, fan, gaskets and refrigerant pressure on site and identify the real cause before starting any repair.

  3. 3

    Repair and clean

We clean the condenser of grease and dust, replace the faulty part and top up refrigerant if needed, all while keeping disruption to your work as short as possible.

  4. 4

    Temperature check and handover

After the repair we let the fridge run and measure the cabinet temperature until it reaches the correct range, then hand the unit back to you.

What sets this district apart

Al Rabiyah is an expanding residential district south of Jeddah with small restaurants, grocers, butchers, juice bars and sweet shops mixed with residential buildings. Heat here is intense year-round, commercial fridges work under constant pressure for long hours, and seasonal humidity speeds up mould growth in drain pans and coils. Butchers and sweet shops especially need robust fridges and continuous care because humidity is high and fats build up fast.

Al Rabiyah lies in southern Jeddah, an expanding residential area with separate blocks and small local commerce on wide streets.

Butchers and sweet shops in Al Rabiyah use large horizontal display fridges or multiple uprights, whilst small restaurants use both upright and horizontal units for storage and display.

The AC setup in Al Rabiyah

  1. 1

Large horizontal display fridge for butchers and sweet shops

Butchers and sweet shops need horizontal display fridges with open-top cases to showcase products, and this style accumulates dust and moisture quickly in Al Rabiyah.

  2. 2

Multiple upright fridges for small restaurants

Small restaurants in Al Rabiyah use separate upright units for drinks, poultry, vegetables and dairy, each with its own condenser system.

  3. 3

Weak drainage in a humid environment

Butchers especially have very high humidity, so drain pans and pipes need frequent cleaning to prevent mould and odours building up.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Rabiyah

  1. 1

Clear space around the fridge and outdoor unit

Large fridges need excellent ventilation, so ensure there are no boxes or stock piled around the fridge or outdoor unit.

  2. 2

Pick a visit time away from peak trading hours

Restaurants and butchers in Al Rabiyah are busy at lunch and dinner, so pick a quiet morning or afternoon for us to inspect the fridge properly.

  3. 3

Locate the main power switch or circuit breaker

Large fridges may need full power disconnection for some checks, so confirm the switch or breaker location and accessibility before we visit.

FAQ

Questions about Commercial fridge service

My kitchen fridge runs all the time but does not cool enough. What is wrong?

In most cases the condenser is blocked with grease and dust, which is common in Jeddah kitchens where steam and smoke build up fast. A worn door gasket letting warm kitchen air in constantly is another likely cause. We check both on site and tell you which is the problem, or whether both need attention.

Do you service prep counters and under-counter fridges as well?

Yes, our service covers upright fridges, prep counters, under-counter units and bottle coolers in restaurants, bakeries and groceries. We ask for the model in advance so the technician arrives with the right tools and parts for that unit's size and type.

How does Jeddah's humidity affect kitchen fridges?

Warm, humid air enters through any worn gasket and condenses inside the cabinet, raising the load on the compressor and speeding gasket wear. Salt in Jeddah's sea air also corrodes condenser parts over time. That is why we check gaskets and the condenser condition carefully at every service visit.

Can the fridge be repaired without shutting the kitchen down?

For most repairs, yes. Cleaning the condenser and replacing a fan motor or gasket takes the fridge out of service for a short time only. If the repair needs the refrigerant recovered and recharged we tell you the expected time beforehand so you can prepare your stock.

Why does water keep collecting inside my kitchen fridge?

The most common cause is a worn door gasket letting humid kitchen air in, which then condenses on the walls and shelves. A blocked defrost drain at the base of the unit is another frequent cause. We check the gaskets and the drain line on site and identify the problem before starting any repair.

The heat in Al Rabiyah is brutal, can a commercial fridge handle it?

Yes, but with routine maintenance and good airflow around the outdoor unit. We check monthly to ensure the condenser is clean and the compressor runs efficiently under load.

My butcher's cold room is humid, does that damage the fridge?

Yes, humidity speeds up mould and rust growth on coils and drains, and increases compressor load. We inspect every two months and clean mould and moisture build-up from the coils.

The fridge is leaking water on the floor, what causes this?

Usually the drain pan is clogged with grease or dust, or the drain pipe is kinked or blocked. We disassemble the pan, clean it and clear the pipe so water drains properly.

I hear commercial fridges use different refrigerant types, does that affect service?

Yes, some fridges use R22, R404A or R134a refrigerant, each with different charging and evacuation specs. We check the type on every service and use the correct tools.
