When your commercial fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Temperature creeping up slowly

The fridge runs but no longer reaches its old temperature. In Jeddah's hot kitchens, grease builds on the condenser quickly, robbing it of the ability to shed heat and straining the compressor. We check the blockage on site and decide what is needed.

  2. 2

    Condenser fan stopped or slowed

The condenser fan draws air across the condensing coil. When it stops or slows, heat rises fast and the compressor cuts out on its thermal protector. We test the motor and the run capacitor and replace what has failed as part of the repair.

  3. 3

    Door gasket not sealing properly

A cracked or burned gasket lets warm, humid kitchen air in constantly. The result is a compressor that never rests, condensation forming inside the cabinet and an unstable temperature. We measure the existing gasket and replace it with the right size for that door.

What sets this district apart

Al Salamah is a mid-density district with groceries, small supermarkets and several restaurants and cafés, mostly traditional shops with moderate floor space where fridges run long shifts in a hot, steamy environment. That heavy use makes the condenser coils and fans prone to grease and dust buildup quickly, especially in restaurants where steam and cooking oil are constant, reducing cooling efficiency gradually before the temperature suddenly climbs.

Al Salamah lies in west Jeddah and holds a mix of small groceries, restaurants and cafés in mixed residential and commercial buildings.

Most shops use separate horizontal or upright display fridges per section, with the outdoor unit typically mounted in a rear yard or on the shop roof.

  1. 1

Separate horizontal and upright display fridges

Most groceries and restaurants in Al Salamah use independent display fridges per section, each with its own compressor and cooling unit.

  2. 2

Upright storage fridges in restaurants and cafés

Restaurants and cafés rely on tall storage units for ingredients and drinks, with the outdoor unit usually mounted in a rear yard away from the entrance.

  3. 3

Outdoor units in rear yards or shop roofs

Outdoor units are usually mounted in rear yards or on shop roofs to avoid affecting the shopfront or entrance.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Salamah

  1. 1

Tell us where the outdoor unit is

Let us know if the outdoor unit is in a rear yard or on the roof, and whether reaching it requires opening a door or using stairs.

  2. 2

Schedule the visit around shop hours

Shops and restaurants are busy all day, so pick a time that does not disrupt work, preferably during quieter hours if possible.

  3. 3

Ensure servicing equipment can be moved in easily

Check that the entrance and internal corridors are wide enough to move servicing tools and equipment through without disruption or delay.

FAQ

Questions about Commercial fridge service

My kitchen fridge runs all the time but does not cool enough. What is wrong?

In most cases the condenser is blocked with grease and dust, which is common in Jeddah kitchens where steam and smoke build up fast. A worn door gasket letting warm kitchen air in constantly is another likely cause. We check both on site and tell you which is the problem, or whether both need attention.

Do you service prep counters and under-counter fridges as well?

Yes, our service covers upright fridges, prep counters, under-counter units and bottle coolers in restaurants, bakeries and groceries. We ask for the model in advance so the technician arrives with the right tools and parts for that unit's size and type.

How does Jeddah's humidity affect kitchen fridges?

Warm, humid air enters through any worn gasket and condenses inside the cabinet, raising the load on the compressor and speeding gasket wear. Salt in Jeddah's sea air also corrodes condenser parts over time. That is why we check gaskets and the condenser condition carefully at every service visit.

Can the fridge be repaired without shutting the kitchen down?

For most repairs, yes. Cleaning the condenser and replacing a fan motor or gasket takes the fridge out of service for a short time only. If the repair needs the refrigerant recovered and recharged we tell you the expected time beforehand so you can prepare your stock.

Why does water keep collecting inside my kitchen fridge?

The most common cause is a worn door gasket letting humid kitchen air in, which then condenses on the walls and shelves. A blocked defrost drain at the base of the unit is another frequent cause. We check the gaskets and the drain line on site and identify the problem before starting any repair.

My restaurant fridge loses cooling towards the end of a shift, what causes this?

Grease and steam buildup on the condenser coils from cooking reduces cooling gradually, especially during long continuous shifts. Our inspection shows whether the problem is the condenser, fan or compressor.

My shop is small with a narrow entrance, how do you bring a replacement fridge?

We assess the entrance and corridors before the visit and coordinate with the shop owner on the safest way to move a fridge in or out without disrupting daily work.

The heat and humidity in my restaurant are very high, does this affect fridge efficiency?

Yes, hot surroundings, high humidity and steam from cooking increase the unit's workload and make the coils more prone to buildup, so regular servicing needs to be more frequent than in standard shops.

The power supply in my shop is weak, does this affect the fridge?

Yes, low voltage strains the compressor and reduces cooling efficiency gradually. We check the electrical connection and circuits during the visit and recommend improving the power supply if needed.
