When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Manar is a clean, well-planned east Jeddah neighbourhood mixing spacious residential areas with a few small and mid-size retail shops and commercial units. Heat exposure here is less extreme than coastal or crowded zones, and dust ingress is lighter, allowing more efficient HVAC design without harsh modifications. Shops here typically see lower peak foot traffic, so the system can run at a steadier load with less frequent maintenance.

Al Manar sits in east Jeddah, a well-ordered residential district with light retail activity and relatively lower dust levels.

Most small shops and retail complexes here run one or two split units because floor areas are moderate and heat load is less extreme.

The AC setup in Al Manar

  1. 1

Single or dual split units for small shops

Small and medium Al Manar shops use one or two split units since floor areas are moderate and heat load is steady.

  2. 2

Simple central system for larger retail complexes

Relatively large retail complexes may benefit from a single central system instead of multiple splits, but this suits only the largest centres.

  3. 3

    Standard filters without extra reinforcement

Dust in Al Manar is relatively light, so standard-grade filters usually suffice without needing reinforced protection levels.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Manar

  1. 1

Confirm actual shop floor area and ceiling height

Tell us the actual floor area and ceiling height so we can size the unit correctly and pick the best mounting spot.

  2. 2

Schedule the visit at your convenience

Shops here see lower traffic, so scheduling installation or maintenance at a time that suits you is straightforward.

  3. 3

Check electrical supply and existing wiring

Check that a power outlet is close to the unit location and confirm the electrical capacity is enough for the new system.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

Al Manar shops are relatively quiet, do we need heavy-duty HVAC?

No, the system can be moderate-sized since foot traffic is lighter and outdoor heat less intense. One or two split units usually suffice, which cuts your electricity bill.

How often should we maintain HVAC in Al Manar retail?

Dust here is lighter than elsewhere, so maintenance every two to three months usually suffices instead of monthly. We clean filters and coils based on actual usage.

Is central HVAC or split units better for Al Manar retail?

For small and medium shops here, split units are more economical and easier to maintain. Central HVAC suits only very large complexes.

Al Manar has less humidity than coastal areas, does that affect maintenance?

Yes, lower humidity means lighter mould buildup. Still, we clean condensation drains regularly to ensure good drainage and prevent blockages.
