When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Mu'ailiyah is a moderate growth district with adjoining shops, small markets, cafés and restaurants mixed with residential flats, mostly older or mid-age buildings that lack space for large central ducting. This means the AC system must make up for extra heat from open doors, cooking or steady foot traffic, with frequent maintenance to clean filters and drain coastal humidity.

Al Mu'ailiyah lies in north-east Jeddah, a district of retail shops and small eateries in mid-age buildings with limited open courtyards.

Most small shops and eateries in Al Mu'ailiyah use independent split units or compact wall or roof-mounted packages given their limited roof space.

The AC setup in Al Mu'ailiyah

  1. 1

Independent split or compact package unit

Most small shops and eateries in Al Mu'ailiyah use a split or wall/roof-mounted compact package because of space constraints.

  2. 2

Precise tuning to offset open-door heat loss

Because of constant door-opening and visitor or cooking heat, installation requires precise thermostat and airflow tuning for comfort without waste.

  3. 3

    Enhanced drainage for coastal humidity

High coastal humidity requires larger drain pans and regular checking, and we may recommend a small sump pump if needed.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Mu'ailiyah

  1. 1

    Ensure safe access and workspace

Make sure your entrance and work areas are clear of stock and furniture, and that the outdoor unit location (wall or roof) is accessible and safe to mount.

  2. 2

Identify pipe route and power point

Tell us your preferred route for indoor piping and where the nearest power point is to the indoor unit.

  3. 3

Turn off power before our visit

If there is an old unit to replace, switch off its power before the team arrives for safety.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

My small restaurant's kitchen heat strains the AC, how do you fix that?

We assess the kitchen's heat output and ventilation strength, and recommend stepping up the unit size or adding external exhaust vents to ease the AC load.

The coastal humidity affects my AC, what do you do?

Yes, high humidity speeds up condensation and mould in the drain pan and filters, which is why we clean and replace filters more often and ensure condensate drains properly.

My shop is street-facing with doors open most of the day, will one unit suffice?

We assess your space and door-open hours; if doors are open most of the day, we may recommend two smaller units or one higher-capacity unit depending on your budget and layout.

The building's wiring is old, can you connect the AC easily?

We check the electrical circuit before installation, and if needed recommend a new dedicated circuit or an upgrade by a qualified electrician to ensure safe running without overload.
