When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Ruhaili is a growing district in north-east Jeddah, spreading out with scattered shops across wider spaces than other areas, alongside small to medium shopping centres and standalone stores. Heat here can be more intense than near-coastal areas, and greater distances between shops provide more room for outdoor units and maintenance work. Most shops run independent systems, central HVAC is rare, making maintenance planning simpler and requiring less complex coordination among multiple tenants.

Al Ruhaili is a growing north-east Jeddah district with shops and shopping centres spread across wider areas.

Most Al Ruhaili shops are independent with their own units, powerful split or ceiling units are standard, and outdoor units have plenty of working space.

The AC setup in Al Ruhaili

  1. 1

    Powerful independent split units

Most Al Ruhaili shops have a powerful split unit owned independently, giving full control and performance autonomy.

  2. 2

Ceiling units in smaller shopping centres

Some smaller shopping centres in Al Ruhaili use distributed ceiling units across different corridors.

  3. 3

    Ample space for outdoor units

Standalone shops and wider layout in Al Ruhaili provide plenty of room for robust outdoor units and easy maintenance access.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

We are far from downtown Jeddah, are temperatures different here?

Yes, Al Ruhaili tends to be hotter than near-coastal districts, especially in summer. The AC load is slightly higher here, so regular condenser and coil cleaning improves efficiency noticeably.

Our shops are spread out, does that affect maintenance?

Actually that helps, each shop has its own independent system with no need for complex coordination between tenants. Our team can schedule your visit easily without waiting for other shops.

We have plenty of external space, does that allow bigger units?

Yes, ample space allows larger outdoor units or even multiple units if your shop needs it. This improves airflow and efficiency, and we can access them more easily for maintenance.

Can we arrange combined maintenance for multiple shops in Al Ruhaili?

Yes, if you and other shop owners want service on the same day, we can schedule one visit and service multiple locations more efficiently, potentially lowering cost per shop.
