When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Ruwais is a commercial and service zone with older buildings than Al Rabwah or Al Ain, housing diverse shops, repair workshops, laundries, and small to medium storage areas. Streets are wider than Mushrifah and buildings more spaced, allowing more freedom for outdoor unit placement. However, the mix of uses means some shops need heavier cooling due to workshop heat or peaks in foot traffic. Drainage is relatively easier because buildings are more spaced and alleys wider.

Al Ruwais is in central Jeddah, a diverse commercial and service zone with moderately spaced, mid-height buildings.

Shops and storage in Al Ruwais use split and package units depending on area and use, with outdoor units usually on roofs or side walls.

The AC setup in Al Ruwais

  1. 1

Medium split for small shops and storage

Small shops and storage in Al Ruwais use a medium-capacity split with straightforward drainage.

  2. 2

Package unit for large storage and workshops

Large storage and small industrial workshops use a package unit offering strong cooling and easy distribution.

  3. 3

    Flexible outdoor unit placement

Al Ruwais's wider spacing allows more freedom in mounting outdoor units on roofs or side walls.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

Our workshop is very hot from machinery, is a split unit enough?

It depends on workshop size, number of machines and operating hours. We may need a large split or a package unit. We will visit, assess the thermal load and recommend the right system.

Our storage has no windows, what do we do?

Closed storage needs strong AC independent of natural ventilation. We install a split or package system with proper rear exhaust to protect stored goods.

What is the difference between a split and a package unit?

A split has separate indoor and outdoor units, a package is one larger unit for bigger spaces and stronger cooling. We choose based on area and budget. We will assess your site and recommend the best fit.

The building is old and the electrics are weak, does it need special wiring support?

Yes, AC units may need a dedicated circuit and proper breaker. We will check the electrical setup and recommend necessary upgrades before installation.
