When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.
Ask on WhatsAppManaging an existing commercial complex
We review the existing system and set a preventive and corrective maintenance contract scheduled outside trading hours so tenants are not affected.

- Ductwork from our workshop
- Maintenance contracts off peak
How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.
Designed for the space or just fitted?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Air distribution | Load study per zone | One unit for the whole space |
| Ductwork | G90 sheet, sized for the job | Off-the-shelf wrong size |
| Condensate | Dedicated line away from stock | Risk of drips on shelves |
| Maintenance | Scheduled outside shop hours | Surprise outage during trade |
| Copper purity | Mueller copper, 99% pure, no welds | Unspecified pipe source |

What sets this district apart
Old Airport is a central commercial zone with medium shops, small malls and mixed residential-commercial blocks, set on relatively wide streets with developed urban planning. Commercial density is moderate but heat loads vary by shop position, sun exposure and occupancy, some units face south or east with high solar gain. Multi-unit splits or lightweight central systems run efficiently, needing regular scheduled maintenance to balance need and consumption.
Old Airport sits in central Jeddah, a moderate-density commercial zone with shops and small malls around wide roads.
Most Old Airport shops run single or dual splits, with a few small malls using basic central systems.
The AC setup in Old Airport
- 1
Single powerful split for a sun-facing shop
South or east-facing shops in Old Airport need high-capacity single splits to handle strong solar exposure.
- 2
Dual split for a small mall
Small malls with broad glass frontages benefit from dual splits distributing cold air across corridors and storefronts.
- 3
Lightweight central system for multiple leased units
Buildings with multiple leased units benefit from a simple central system, offering unified control and easier maintenance.

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
The shop faces direct sun, do I need a stronger unit?
Yes, direct sun exposure increases heat load significantly, so we choose above-average capacity and recommend thermal blinds for extra protection.
When is central AC better than multiple splits?
If you lease multiple units or run a small mall with shared areas, a lightweight central system is more efficient and easier to maintain.
Does humidity and salt air near the old airport affect the AC?
Proximity to the airport may increase humidity and salt exposure, so we use corrosion-resistant units and clean them regularly.
My shop is rented, can the AC be relocated if I move?
Yes, split units can be relocated and installed elsewhere, but this involves additional costs for dismantling, reinstalling and new connections.
