When you need a retail HVAC specialist
- 1
A new mall or shopping centre
A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.
- 2
An existing shop with uneven cooling
The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.
- 3
Condensate dripping on shelves or display
A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.
Who it's for
Opening a new shop inside a mall
We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

We review the existing system and set a preventive and corrective maintenance contract scheduled outside trading hours so tenants are not affected.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Site survey and loads
We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.
- 2
Design and materials
We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.
- 3
Installation coordinated on site
We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.
- 4
Start-up and maintenance contract
We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

What sets this district apart
Umm Sidrah is a densely packed residential zone with a diverse mix of shops: grocers, small eateries, clinics and service stores, all squeezed in among residential blocks. Outdoor space is very limited and units are mounted on narrow walls or tiny balconies that cannot accommodate major servicing. Streets are tighter than northern zones, so equipment access demands precise coordination with the shop owner and residents. Humidity and dust settle faster in these dense areas, meaning filter and coil cleaning must happen more often.
Umm Sidrah lies in east Jeddah, a densely residential area with small food and service shops scattered among apartment blocks.
Most shops in Umm Sidrah run single split units or window AC, as outdoor space is very restricted and shops are small and tightly packed.
The AC setup in Umm Sidrah
- 1
Single split unit per small shop
Tight small shops in Umm Sidrah typically need just one compact split unit, economical on energy and space.
- 2
Window units still in older shops
Some older shops still use window units, which work but we encourage gradual upgrading to split for better efficiency.
- 3
Specialised filters for restaurants and food shops
Food shops and restaurants need grease-resistant filters and frequent cleaning to protect coils from oil buildup.
Before the visit

FAQ
Questions about Mall & retail HVAC
How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?
An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.
Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?
Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.
Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?
A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.
How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?
Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.
Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?
The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.
I run a small grocery and humidity affects stock, what AC should I use?
Food shops need strict humidity control. We advise a high-quality split with a moisture-absorbing filter and either a small dehumidifier or special coil calibration.
There is not enough balcony space for an outdoor unit, where can we mount it?
We may mount it on a narrow exterior wall or even a small roof shelf. It depends on building design and safety. We assess the site first and suggest the safest option.
Dust builds up fast in my shop, how often should filters be cleaned?
In dense older areas like Umm Sidrah, dust and humidity settle quickly. We advise filter cleaning every two to three weeks and coil cleaning every two months.
I run a small restaurant, heat and cooking fumes damage the AC, how do you protect it?
Restaurants need oil-resistant filters and extra ventilation. We install a robust pre-filter cleaned frequently, and intensive monthly servicing of coil and fan.
