Split AC installation in Abhur Al Shamaliyah

In Abhur Al Shamaliyah, split AC installation demands careful positioning because of the sea's proximity, strong winds and intense summer heat. Alrabih's team places both units precisely, runs insulated copper and a drain that falls correctly, so the unit cools quietly from day one.

  • Mueller copper
  • Full vacuum
  • Proper drain

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Abhur Al Shamaliyah is a relatively modern residential district tilted towards villas and newer apartment blocks with open roofs and spacious outdoor areas, but its proximity to the Gulf means strong winds and salt spray that corrode metal. Split installation here calls for placing the outdoor unit in a wind-sheltered spot, using high-grade insulated copper to resist salt corrosion, and ensuring the drain line does not flex in the wind.

Abhur Al Shamaliyah lies in Jeddah's northern sector, a modern area of villas and residential buildings near the sea.

Most villas and blocks here need multiple split units, with outdoor units often exposed on rooftops or sea-facing balconies.

The AC setup in Abhur Al Shamaliyah

  1. 1

Single split for small villas or large rooms

Some smaller villas or single large rooms get by with one split unit mounted on an interior wall and matching outdoor placement.

  2. 2

Multiple splits covering the entire villa

Most modern villas and blocks need several splits across bedrooms, lounges and kitchens to distribute cooling evenly.

  3. 3

    Outdoor units on sheltered roofs

Outdoor units are mounted on roofs or balconies positioned away from direct wind and salt spray as much as possible.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Abhur Al Shamaliyah

  1. 1

Decide where the outdoor units will go

Tell us before we visit if you prefer rooftops or balconies, and ensure the spot is safe, wind-sheltered and away from water sources.

  2. 2

Clear the path from entry to the roof or balcony

Make sure the team can easily reach the roofs or balconies where the outdoor units will sit, without obstacles or tight staircases.

  3. 3

Have the house layout or room measurements ready

Have a rough sketch of the room layout or roof measurements ready, so the team can help choose the right number of units and their best positions.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

These villas are larger than older areas, how do you choose how many units are needed?

We visit the villa, measure the rooms and assess the layout and openings, then recommend the number and capacity of splits needed before any installation begins.

Roofs here are high and winds are strong, how do you safely fix the outdoor unit?

We choose a sheltered spot away from direct wind exposure, use heavy-duty metal brackets and fasteners to withstand gusts, and confirm the mounting is stable before start-up.

Sea salt corrodes metal quickly here, how do you protect the copper from corrosion?

We use premium insulated copper and appropriate moisture barriers to reduce exposed metal, and advise the owner to have the outdoor unit inspected regularly.

The AC drain might overflow onto the balcony, how do you run the drain pipes?

We design the drain run with the correct slope toward a safe outlet or designated drainage area, and test it before completion to ensure no pooling or leaks occur.
