Fitted right first time
Split AC installation in Al Atheer
In Al Atheer, south Jeddah, installing a new split AC requires precision in the copper run and drainage so water does not drip down your walls. Alrabih's team positions both units carefully, vacuums the line before start-up, and runs an insulated drain that slopes correctly, so the unit cools quietly from day one.
- Mueller copper
- Full vacuum
- Proper drain

When you need a proper installer
- 1
A new unit for a room or flat
You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.
- 2
Not sure where the outdoor unit goes
In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.
- 3
A past install that went wrong
Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.
Who it's for
Moving into a new flat that needs AC
We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.
Ask on WhatsAppFitting AC in a shop or office
We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Send a photo
WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.
- 2
Agree positions and route
On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.
- 3
Fit and vacuum
We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.
- 4
Start-up and handover
We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.
A careful install or a rushed one?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Vacuum | Pumped before start-up | Often skipped |
| Copper | Mueller, fully insulated | Patchy insulation |
| Drain | Falls, so no drips | Water down the wall |
| Outdoor unit spot | Airy and easy to reach | Wherever it fits |
| Wall opening | Sealed tight | Dust gets through |

What sets this district apart
Al Atheer is a relatively modern residential district in the south, dominated by contemporary villas and mid-rise buildings with reasonable outdoor spaces and wider streets than downtown. This allows longer copper runs and a comfortable outdoor-unit placement on the roof or rear wall, reducing cooling strain. The sandy soil in the area needs good drainage for the condensate so it does not pool around the villa or building's foundation.
Al Atheer lies in south Jeddah, a district of modern villas and mid-rise buildings with generous outdoor spaces.
Most villas and buildings here accommodate split units with longer copper runs due to adequate horizontal and vertical distances.
The AC setup in Al Atheer
- 1
Split with extended copper run to the roof
Most villas choose to place the outdoor unit on the roof, allowing extended insulated copper runs done with care.
- 2
Multi-head split with separate indoor units
Larger villas can accommodate one outdoor unit serving multiple indoor units across different rooms.
- 3
Outdoor unit mounted on the rear wall
Some villas prefer the rear wall away from the front, keeping noise and hot exhaust out of sight.

FAQ
Questions about Split AC installation
Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?
Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.
Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?
New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.
Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?
Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.
Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?
It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.
What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?
We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.
My villa is large, do I need one split unit or more?
It depends on the room sizes and total area to cool. We visit the villa and determine the right number and capacity of units with precision.
My street is wide and my villa has a rear yard, where do you place the outdoor unit?
We prefer the roof or rear wall away from the villa's entrance, so the noise and hot exhaust air stay clear of the living zones.
The sandy soil holds moisture, is the AC drain sufficient?
We ensure drain pipes slope correctly and discharge away from foundations, and sometimes recommend extending the drain to the garden or drainage system.
The distance from my living room to the roof is long, what copper-run length do you handle?
We handle long runs and route the copper carefully to avoid oil leakage. The run length depends on the unit positions, and we discuss this on-site.
