Split AC installation in Al Majami'

Split AC installation in Al Majami', far north Jeddah, requires careful placement of both units and properly sloped insulated copper to prevent dripping. Alrabih's team vacuums the line before start-up to ensure effective, quiet cooling from day one.

  • Mueller copper
  • Full vacuum
  • Proper drain

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Majami' is a modern area of luxury villas and gated residential complexes at low density with very large gardens between buildings. Proximity to the sea creates extreme humidity and salt-laden air that corrodes metal parts and copper at rapid speed. Streets are wide and organized but distance from town centre makes advance coordination essential. Specialized protection of copper runs from coastal salt and humidity is the top priority here.

Al Majami' sits at the far north of Jeddah on the coast, a modern area of luxury villas and gated residential complexes.

Most homes in Al Majami' are independent villas with separate splits, with outdoor units placed in spacious gardens directly exposed to coastal salt air.

The AC setup in Al Majami'

  1. 1

Independent split per villa in the complex

Each villa in the complex has its own independent split with a separate outdoor unit in its private garden.

  2. 2

Outdoor units in large gardens exposed to salt

Outdoor units in the complex's large gardens sit completely exposed to direct coastal salt air.

  3. 3

Copper runs protected with premium salt-resistant materials

We use premium-quality extra-thick insulation and robust protective metal guards over runs to resist intense coastal salt and humidity.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Majami'

  1. 1

Early coordination and complex management approval

Obtain written approval from complex management on the outdoor-unit location and schedule the visit well in advance due to distance.

  2. 2

Choose outdoor-unit location away from coast and salt

Select a location as far as possible from the coast, preferably on the north or east side of the villa to shield from direct salt-laden winds.

  3. 3

Ensure easy team and equipment access

Ensure the entrance and route to the garden is safe and straightforward, with suitable parking near the villa for easy equipment unloading.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

How much do coastal salt and humidity shorten the lifespan of copper lines?

In coastal Al Majami', exposed copper runs corrode very rapidly. That is why we use exceptionally thick insulation and protective metal sleeves, and recommend checks every three months.

In gated complexes, do we need management approval before installation?

Yes, most gated complexes in Al Majami' have rules about outdoor-unit placement and maintenance. Written approval from management is required before installation.

With very large gardens, how do you decide the best outdoor-unit location?

We choose a location far from the house and windows to minimise noise, away from trees that might block airflow. We prefer north or east placement for protection from direct salt-laden sea breeze.

How does distance from town affect maintenance and repair speed?

Distance makes preventive maintenance more critical than emergency repair. We recommend regular annual maintenance contracts and quarterly checks to prevent salt and moisture-related breakdowns.
