Split AC installation in Al Sahil

Installing split AC on Al Sahil's waterfront demands careful placement due to high humidity and coastal salt spray. Alrabih positions both units precisely, runs insulated copper and a sloped drain correctly, vacuums the line before start-up, so it cools quietly from day one.

  • Mueller copper
  • Full vacuum
  • Proper drain

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Most Al Sahil buildings are modern mid-rise apartment blocks with spacious flats but limited outdoor space for units. High humidity and salt from the nearby sea accelerate copper and pipe corrosion if not properly insulated, and the outdoor unit typically sits on a small balcony or wall facing the sea directly. Precise installation and full line insulation are essential here to prevent leaks and rapid rust.

Al Sahil sits on Jeddah's southern waterfront, a modern residential district of multi-storey blocks with spacious flats.

Most flats here need separate split units for each bedroom or lounge, with outdoor units mostly on small balconies or tight wall spaces.

The AC setup in Al Sahil

  1. 1

Separate split per bedroom and lounge

Most Al Sahil flats need multiple split units to cover bedrooms and lounges, as the flat requires even cooling throughout.

  2. 2

Copper runs across tight balconies with limited space

Copper tubing runs from indoor to outdoor across narrow balconies, so we insulate it with extra care to protect it from salt and moisture.

  3. 3

    Outdoor units on sea-facing walls

Outdoor units often sit on walls facing the sea and salt-laden winds directly, so we choose corrosion-resistant mounting and components.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Sahil

  1. 1

Inspect the outdoor balcony and walls

Check the condition of the balcony and walls where the outdoor unit will sit, and send us a clear photo before the visit for us to assess the base and waterproofing.

  2. 2

Clear safe working space for the team

On the balcony and inside the flat, clear enough space for the team to move safely and work on walls and floors without obstacles.

  3. 3

Ensure parking is available near the building

Tell us the nearest safe parking spot near the building or in the shared courtyard, as the team will need to carry installation equipment and tubing.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

The unit drips water on the balcony wall from outside, is this an installation fault?

Usually the drain line is not fully insulated or lacks the correct slope. We vacuum the line completely, insulate it fully, and slope it properly to ensure drainage with no dripping.

Does coastal salt spray shorten the unit's lifespan?

Yes, salt and humidity accelerate corrosion of copper and metals. We use fully insulated tubing and protected wires, and mount the outdoor unit away from direct moisture exposure as much as possible.

My balcony is very tight, can you fit the outdoor unit there?

We visit the site first to assess the balcony, wall, and available space. If it is too tight, we may mount it on the external wall or explore safe alternatives with you.

How many days does the installation take from start to finish?

This depends on the flat's size, how many units you need, and the distance between indoor and outdoor placements. Send us a site photo on WhatsApp for a more accurate timeline.
