Split AC installation in Al Surur

In Al Surur, south Jeddah, split installation accounts for the dense residential character and limited space between buildings. Alrabih installs carefully, choosing routes and locations that minimise visual clutter and noise to neighbours.

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Surur is a densely built residential district with closely spaced blocks and villas, narrow streets and limited gaps between buildings. This density means outdoor units sit near neighbouring flats, and copper routes may run across shared facades or visible balconies. Installation here demands sensitivity to appearance and noise, so we route pipes to minimise visual exposure and use bases and mounts that reduce vibration and sound.

Al Surur sits in south Jeddah, a densely built residential district of closely spaced apartment blocks and villas.

Most units here are individual splits, and outdoor units sit close to neighbouring flats, requiring special noise isolation.

The AC setup in Al Surur

  1. 1

    Split with enhanced sound isolation

The residential density calls for strong sound isolators under the outdoor unit and flexible pipe connections.

  2. 2

    Copper routes concealed where possible

We choose routes that minimise visible pipes on shared facades, and may hide pipes inside walls or behind supports.

  3. 3

Outdoor units on less visible locations

We prefer mounting on a private balcony or corner less visible from the street, with partial screening that allows airflow.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Surur

  1. 1

Coordinate with neighbours about the unit location

Before installation, inform neighbours of the outdoor-unit location and confirm they accept the noise and appearance.

  2. 2

Choose a hidden route for copper and drain

Agree with the team on a copper and drain route that minimises exposed piping on shared facades.

  3. 3

    Confirm safe access routes

Ensure our team can reach the location easily from the street or main entrance, especially in a dense district like Al Surur.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

Flats here are close together, will noise from my unit disturb neighbours?

Proximity between flats makes noise more sensitive. We use robust rubber isolators under the outdoor unit and flexible pipe connections, and choose quieter units when available. We advise against running the unit late at night.

Facades are shared and space is tight, how do you run copper without disturbing neighbours?

We carefully route copper to minimise visible pipes on shared facades, and coordinate with neighbours if we need to work nearby. We may run pipes inside walls or behind supports to hide as much as possible.

Can the outdoor unit be placed inside the building or underneath to hide it from view?

The outdoor unit needs good airflow on all sides to work properly, so it cannot be fully hidden in an enclosed space. But we can mount it on a private balcony or less visible corner if possible, with a partial protective screen that does not block airflow.

The flat is old with limited wiring, can a split still be installed?

We assess the electrical connections first. If the wiring is old and cannot handle the load, we may need to run a dedicated circuit from the panel. Send us a photo of the electrical panel on WhatsApp so we can evaluate.
