When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Rawdah is a western coastal district experiencing rapid commercial growth with new malls and modern retail shops emerging along the seafront. The coastal location means very high humidity and daily salt air. New retail structures feature contemporary designs with open spaces and glass doors, but humidity poses a constant challenge to cooling efficiency and stock preservation. Roads in Al Rawdah are well developed, easing access for maintenance teams, yet the marine environment demands more intensive servicing than inland areas.

Al Rawdah lies in western Jeddah on the coast, a growing coastal district with modern malls and high marine exposure.

Shops and malls in Al Rawdah require high-capacity cooling systems to handle the high coastal humidity and sustained heat loads.

The AC setup in Al Rawdah

  1. 1

    Very high-capacity cooling units

Malls and shops in Al Rawdah use very high-capacity cooling units to handle the high coastal humidity and sustained load.

  2. 2

Enhanced drainage systems for moisture removal

Designs focus on enhanced, swift drainage from condensers and filters to prevent moisture and mould buildup.

  3. 3

    Salt- and corrosion-resistant components

Outdoor units are made from salt- and wet sea-air-resistant materials.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Rawdah

  1. 1

Ensure a safe drainage point is available

Maintenance in Al Rawdah involves heavy water drainage; confirm a safe disposal point away from pedestrians and property.

  2. 2

Coordinate service timing with mall management

Coastal malls may be busy at specific times; we need good coordination with management to choose the best service window.

  3. 3

Inspect outdoor units for salt corrosion

Before the visit, check the outdoor units' condition and note any salt corrosion or rust present.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

Does high coastal humidity reduce cooling efficiency?

Yes, high humidity increases the load on the cooling system and reduces efficiency, so we recommend powerful units and monthly servicing of condensers and filters.

Do new shops near the sea need special cooling units?

Yes, shops near the sea in Al Rawdah need cooling units with salt- and humidity-resistant materials and higher capacities.

How do you handle water leakage from coastal humidity?

High humidity increases water seepage from drain pans, so we clean drains monthly and ensure pipes are completely clear.

How often should units be serviced in this coastal environment?

The humid marine environment requires servicing every month to check for leaks, corrosion and mould in condensers and filters.
