When you need a retail HVAC specialist

  1. 1

A new mall or shopping centre

A poor design from the start means cold zones next to stifling ones and endless tenant complaints. We study the heat load of each zone separately and choose the right unit type before the ceiling is built.

  2. 2

An existing shop with uneven cooling

The back of the shop is cold while the front near the door stays hot at peak hours. The cause is usually the air outlet layout or the unit size; a site survey identifies which and fixes the problem without replacing the whole system.

  3. 3

Condensate dripping on shelves or display

A single drip on stock or a glass display front damages the product and the shop's image. The cause is usually weak insulation, a blocked condensate line or an unlevel unit, all of which can be diagnosed and fixed in one visit.

Who it's for

  • Opening a new shop inside a mall

We design an independent unit for your space and install ductwork and condensate lines before finishing work so your opening is not delayed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey and loads

We visit the site and map every heat source: entrances, lighting, expected crowd density and facade orientation, then size the units correctly for each section.

  2. 2

    Design and materials

We design the duct network in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to dimensions that give even air distribution, and select units from brands we distribute such as Carrier, YORK and Gree.

  3. 3

    Installation coordinated on site

We coordinate installation with the project programme so ductwork does not delay finishing trades, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints to reduce potential leak points.

  4. 4

    Start-up and maintenance contract

We start up the system and check air distribution in every section, then set a preventive and corrective maintenance schedule timed so work never overlaps with the shop's trading hours.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Shara'i is a new-growth area where shops sit spaced between residential zones and vacant land, so buildings do not benefit from shading by neighbors. Shops here have large glass frontages and doors opening straight onto hot streets, letting severe daytime heat in. HVAC systems need high capacity and tight humidity control to stop condensation on goods and front glass.

Al Shara'i is in north-east Jeddah, a new-growth district with spaced-out shops and open land under direct sun exposure.

Independent shops in Al Shara'i typically use high-capacity package units or multiple split units because of the heavy thermal load from glass frontages and open doors.

The AC setup in Al Shara'i

  1. 1

Heavy-duty package units on roof or side

Standalone shops in Al Shara'i rely on one or more package units on roof or external wall, providing direct cooling without complex ductwork.

  2. 2

Multiple splits distributed through the space

Smaller and medium shops may use separate split units in different spots to ensure even cooling without strong draughts.

  3. 3

    Systems with integrated dehumidification

Because of the gap between outdoor heat and indoor cooling, we install units with built-in humidity control to prevent condensation on goods and glass.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Shara'i

  1. 1

Confirm the best spot for the outdoor unit

In Al Shara'i, outdoor units usually go on the roof or rear wall away from the shop front. Let us know your preferred location and available space before we visit.

  2. 2

Confirm heavy-duty electrical supply is available

Heavy-duty outdoor units need robust electrical supply with proper circuit protection. Check that your electrical panel can support the extra load before installation day.

  3. 3

Agree on an installation schedule that does not close the shop

Installation may take several hours, so agree with us on a day and time that does not affect your opening hours or force an unnecessary closure.

FAQ

Questions about Mall & retail HVAC

How do you handle doors that open onto the street all day?

An open door pushes in hot humid air and spikes the heat load suddenly. We include that load in the design and direct a supply outlet above the entrance to form an air barrier that reduces mixing. The survey confirms which arrangement suits each specific doorway.

Do you install separate units for each mall tenant?

Yes. A separate unit per tenant means each shop controls its own cooling and a fault in one unit does not affect the neighbour. It also makes consumption readings straightforward and makes maintenance responsibility clear for each party.

Why do you prefer rooftop packaged units for malls?

A rooftop packaged unit keeps the condenser and evaporator in one casing above the roof, freeing every inch of shop floor from outdoor units and shortening the duct run. Maintenance happens on the roof without entering the shop, which fits scheduling work outside trading hours.

How do you handle Jeddah's heat and its effect on rooftop units?

Rooftop units in Jeddah work in hot, salty and dusty air that strains the condenser and speeds fin corrosion. We specify units with corrosion-resistant coatings and include coil cleaning and compressor and condenser checks in the preventive schedule of every maintenance contract.

Does air distribution design differ between a small shop and a large mall?

The site survey decides. A small shop may need only a concealed unit with directional grilles, while a mall requires a duct network with dampers zoned by area. In both cases the positions of lighting, visitor traffic and entry doors are recorded before supply outlets are placed.

Sun hits our shop directly, how do you handle such intense heat?

We install outdoor units strong enough to keep pace with the constant heat from direct sun and large glass, and add robust filtration to maintain indoor air quality throughout the day.

The large glass frontage causes condensation, is that normal?

In Al Shara'i, where outside air is hot and inside is cooled hard, condensation on glass can occur. We manage this by tuning relative humidity precisely and directing air streams so they do not hit the glass directly.

Empty land surrounds our shop, does ground heat affect the system?

Yes, bare soil and tarmac absorb and radiate heat, increasing the load on your HVAC. We size the outdoor units for this and position them away from sun-exposed areas as far as possible.

Our shop is small and space is tight, can a powerful system be fitted safely?

Yes, we use compact package units or multiple splits instead of central systems, and layout the air flow so cooling spreads efficiently through the tight space without draughts on customers.
