Split AC installation in Al Riyadh

Split AC installation in Al Riyadh calls for careful placement in the modern villas and flats of east Jeddah. Alrabih installs both units with precision, runs insulated copper and properly graded drain, and vacuums the line before start-up so cooling is quiet and reliable from day one.

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.

What sets this district apart

Al Riyadh is a modern east-side district built mainly with detached villas and mid-rise flats, each with relatively generous outdoor space. That room allows the outdoor unit to sit away from the main façade, giving more flexibility in routing copper and drain without spoiling the look. The sandy soil and lower relative humidity in the east reduce moisture and mould issues compared to coastal areas, but the intense summer heat means long copper runs need thick insulation to prevent cooling loss.

Al Riyadh sits in east Jeddah, a relatively newer district of villas and flats with generous outdoor space.

Most modern villas and flats here need one split per unit, with outdoor units typically mounted on side walls or exterior corners away from the main view.

The AC setup in Al Riyadh

  1. 1

One split per villa or flat

Most modern villas and flats in Al Riyadh use one independent split per property because each space is self-contained.

  2. 2

Outdoor units on side walls or corners

Generous outdoor space allows the outdoor unit to be mounted away from the front façade, preserving the property's aesthetic appeal.

  3. 3

    Long insulated copper runs

The distance between indoor and outdoor units in villas can be substantial, requiring robust insulation and secure fixing of all runs.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Riyadh

  1. 1

Decide on your preferred outdoor location

Consider the location that looks best and allows good airflow, and share your preference with us before the visit so we can assess it.

  2. 2

    Ensure outdoor areas are accessible

Make sure the team can easily reach the side walls or corners where the outdoor unit will be mounted.

  3. 3

Assess whether you need a long copper run

Measure the distance between where your indoor and outdoor units will be, and let us know so we prepare the correct length of insulated copper.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

How do you handle long copper runs in larger villas?

We fully insulate copper pipes, secure them with strong clips, and ensure proper slope throughout. We vacuum the line before start-up so performance remains optimal even over long distances.

I have good outdoor space, where is the best location for the outdoor unit?

Placement depends on your layout and avoiding direct sun exposure as much as possible. We assess the options on our first visit to choose the best spot for airflow and appearance.

The heat in east Jeddah is intense, does that affect cooling capacity?

Yes, high outdoor temperatures reduce the unit's efficiency slightly, so we select the correct capacity for your space and insulate the lines well to minimise performance loss.

How do you ensure proper water drainage after installation?

We run drain pipes on a continuous slope away from walls and foundations, and check for any kinks that trap water before start-up.
