Split AC installation in Al Sawari

In Al Sawari, north Jeddah, split installation needs precision in routing the insulated copper pipes and drainage to prevent damp on walls. Alrabih's team positions both units carefully, runs the insulation and drain line properly, and vacuums the circuit before start-up.

  • Mueller copper
  • Full vacuum
  • Proper drain

When you need a proper installer

  1. 1

A new unit for a room or flat

You have bought the unit, or are about to, and want it fitted once, not to find a refrigerant leak or water on the floor a few weeks later. Getting it right first time saves you all of that.

  2. 2

Not sure where the outdoor unit goes

In Jeddah flats the choice is usually the roof, the balcony or the facade. We pick a spot where the condenser gets enough air, a technician can reach it for servicing, and neither noise nor drain water bothers the neighbours.

  3. 3

A past install that went wrong

Weak cooling since day one, water running down the wall, a loud indoor unit. These are usually installation mistakes, not faults in the unit, and our installation is built step by step to avoid them.

Who it's for

  • Moving into a new flat that needs AC

We plan every unit position and copper route in one go, so the whole flat ends up neat and consistent.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Fitting AC in a shop or office

We place the units so cool air reaches the entrance and the work area, and arrange outdoor units and drains to suit the shopfront and the building's rules.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the room, where the outdoor unit might go and your district, and we tell you what the job needs before the visit.

  2. 2

    Agree positions and route

On site, the technician agrees the unit positions and the copper and drain route with you before drilling any wall.

  3. 3

    Fit and vacuum

We mount both units, run and insulate the copper, then vacuum the line with a pump and check the joints before releasing the refrigerant held in the outdoor unit.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, measure the air coming out, check the drain flows, then leave the room clean and show you the remote and how to clean the filter.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.

What sets this district apart

Al Sawari is a relatively modern residential district with villas and mid-rise apartment blocks, and the streets are wider than downtown. Most homes were not originally planned for central cooling, so split units are the standard choice, with outdoor units typically mounted on open exterior walls or above roofs. The climate here is hot and fairly dry, which reduces humidity issues but increases the load on the units, so precise installation ensures efficient cooling from day one.

Al Sawari lies in north Jeddah proper, a relatively modern residential district of villas and apartment blocks with regular street layout.

Most villas and flats in Al Sawari have a separate split per room or room group, with the outdoor unit usually on an exterior wall or the roof.

The AC setup in Al Sawari

  1. 1

Separate split per room or zone

Most villas and apartment blocks in Al Sawari use independent split units per room or group of rooms for better temperature control.

  2. 2

Outdoor units on walls and roofs

Open exterior walls and flat roofs provide adequate space for mounting units away from obstacles and trees.

  3. 3

Longer copper runs between indoor and outdoor units

In some villas, the distance between indoor and outdoor units can be substantial, requiring carefully calculated copper runs.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Sawari

  1. 1

Tell us the planned outdoor unit location

Confirm whether the outdoor unit will be on an exterior wall or the roof, and check there are no obstructions or power lines above it.

  2. 2

Provide safe parking for the team

Make sure there is parking space close to the main entrance of the villa or building for easy equipment delivery.

  3. 3

Confirm electrical supply availability for the new unit

Check that a dedicated electrical circuit is available or can be used near the outdoor unit location, and tell us of any potential wiring issues.

FAQ

Questions about Split AC installation

Will you install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes, we install units you have bought yourself. Before the visit we ask the model, its capacity and where both units will go, so we know the copper length. If you have not bought one yet, we are an authorised distributor for Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold and can help you choose.

Why does the line need vacuuming before start-up?

New pipes hold air and moisture, and Jeddah's humid air adds more. Mixed with refrigerant, they weaken cooling and strain the compressor over time. We pull them out with a vacuum pump, watch that the reading holds so we know the line is tight, and only then release the refrigerant.

Can the outdoor unit be far from the room?

Yes, within the manufacturer's limits for line length and height difference. We use Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, so there are fewer joints that could leak, and the survey shows whether a long run needs extra refrigerant.

Can you hide the copper and cables in the wall?

It depends on the house. In a new build or during finishing works, the copper can run inside the wall before plastering. In a lived-in home we use neat plastic trunking in the wall colour. We show you the better option for your home at the survey, before any work starts.

What if the outside wall cannot carry the unit?

We check the wall before fixing anything, because some facades are clad in stone or panels that cannot take the weight. Then we set the unit on a floor stand on the roof or balcony, or on a bracket anchored to the concrete itself, not the cladding, so it does not shake loose.

Does split installation in villas differ from apartment buildings?

Yes, villas usually need separate outdoor units on exterior walls or roofs, while apartment blocks sometimes cluster units on one facade. We assess each site during the first visit.

The streets in Al Sawari are wide, does that help with access?

Yes, the regular streets and open space make it easier for the team and equipment to reach the site. We just confirm parking is available near the main entrance.

Will the intense heat in Al Sawari reduce the cooling performance?

The unit needs the right capacity for room size and heat load, and precise routing of the pipes and drain keeps efficiency at maximum even in intense heat.

How much insulation do the copper pipes need in this climate?

We use thick foam insulation on the copper that suits the hot climate, and ensure no gaps in coverage to prevent heat loss and condensation forming on walls.
